Jesse Belvin was a pivotal figure in the development of the R&B sound on the West Coast. As a performer, his biggest hit was "Guess Who" in 1959; as a songwriter, his best-known hits may be "Goodnight My Love" and "Earth Angel", which he co-wrote. Tragically, we're only left with a few recordings as Jesse and his wife were killed in an auto accident in 1960.
