Hallmark's Upcoming Christmas Movie Filmed in Northfield

"Love Always, Santa" was filmed in Northfield, Minnesota. The Christmas-themed movie premiers Sunday.

If you had to choose an ideal Minnesota town to film a Christmas movie in, it'd be hard to go wrong with choosing Northfield, and thats just what the producers from Hallmark did. The city is the location for 2016's "Love Always, Santa," which premiers 8:00 p.m. Sunday on Hallmark Movies and Miniseries.

The Star Tribune reported that producers spent four weeks in Northfield last December and January and filmed at locations including the Content Bookstore and The Hideaway Coffeehouse and Winebar. The Hallmark feature stars Guthrie Theater's Isadora Swann and Marguerite Moreau of The Mighty Ducks.

After losing her husband Bradley three years ago on Christmas day, Celia Banks never thought she’d fall in love again. Now, her entire world revolves around taking care of her daughter Lilly. Lilly writes a letter to Santa with one wish—for her mommy to be happy and find love again. Stars Marguerite Moreau and Mike Faiola.

The city of Northfield is hosting a sneak preview of the film at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Northfield Middle School.
