I grew more than I ever thought possible as a student at Stanford University. It's not perfect—nowhere is—but it was one of the richest, most valuable environments I've ever been in.
I like the atmosphere that the university overall brings. I think a lot of people of different background could very well adapt and accommodate themselves easily here but if course it depends on the personality that that person brings to the table. So far, I would like for some of the housing especially for international students change.
I honestly really like it here! It was my dream school and genuinely there are so many opportunities that you have access to. That said, its heat you make of it. No one will force you or push you to apply for things or cold email people. You just need to have the personal drive. Also, I love the area, its quiet, so if you're into big massive part vibes, it may not be the place for you. I love how they have options for weekends for people who don't party. Very accommodating!
It was amazing touring, the people, culture and local surroundings. By far the Bay Area is the most beautiful in the world in my opinion and Stanford reflects it culture and standing
I find that the university is lacking in skill to teach and overall help students, I talked to my professor and he purposely avoided me and said that he was to busy to deal with me
My first year at Stanford has been absolutely incredible! The campus is just stunning!! And the best part? It's super safe, which is a big deal for me as an international student. Whenever I'm back on campus, it's like a breath of fresh air, like coming home. And remember, Stanford is seriously loaded with resources. I couldn't imagine experiencing college anywhere else.
I love Stanford's uniqueness and biology courses! However, I think it would be great if they adjusted their financial study courses.
Stanford was incredible for me - it shifted my perspectives, made me a better scholar and human being, and is where I made all my most valuable friendships (even now, 4 years out). My Stanford community is my most important community!

My experience at Stanford University was incredibly enriching and transformative. The academic rigor challenged me to push my boundaries and think critically in diverse fields of study. The vibrant campus culture fostered deep connections with peers and faculty, sparking countless engaging discussions and collaborations. The resources and opportunities available, from research initiatives to extracurricular activities, were unparalleled, allowing me to pursue my interests and passions fully. However, I believe there's room for improvement in terms of diversity and inclusion efforts, ensuring that all students feel equally supported and represented within the Stanford community. Additionally, enhancing accessibility to resources for students from various socioeconomic backgrounds would further enrich the university experience for all.
It really sucked. People were rude. Teachers sucked. Campus was good but not many places to eat at. Bad neighborhood.
My experience at Stanford University has been transformative. I have gained invaluable knowledge ,skills, and connections that will undoubtedly shape my future.
Stanford University is a highly motivated environment with students and faculty from all around the world, giving the school an unmatchable unique perspective. Those who attend Stanford are driven and the future leaders of the world, however students are generally friendly and humble despite their incredible achievements.
The academic rigor is what you would expect from a college of this status. Professors are accommodating but still not cover you to do the majority of the work in terms of learning. If you apply yourself you will do well. Free tutoring, office hours and feedback is constantly and consistently available to everyone. Some things that could change is community. There are a lot of students that feel disconnected to everyone around them. Traditions have faded over recent years and stricter policies have limited student engagement. This is a great school, beautiful but not very diverse. Find yourself before you look for someone else.
The first year at Stanford was incredibly enjoyable, especially for those with intellectual curiosity, given the abundance of opportunities across various interests. While the engineering school is popular, Stanford isn't solely focused on engineering, as confirmed by others not in that field. I particularly appreciate the diverse range of activities available, from engaging extracurriculars and sports to vibrant parties and valuable work opportunities. Personally, I regularly enjoyed activities like surfing at the excellent spots in Santa Cruz, about an hour off-campus, and hiking in the picturesque hills nearby. Questions about controversial topics like the "prohibited words list" did come up, but, in reality, it had and continues to have no impact on campus life. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Stanford to anyone and everyone.
I transferred to Stanford in September of 2021 I major in Theatre and Performance Studies with a Concentration in Acting.
