Richland High School Reviews
Rating 3.84 out of 5 399 reviews
Overall I've had a good experience! I have definitely had a hard time with friends, but the school itself has been very helpful in order to make school a better place for myself. The teachers are kind, and hardworking, and seem to truly want the best for their students. I would just like high school to be a good experience with everyone, because lots of the kids aren't very nice, and that causes many kids to have a hard time. But, our principal is wonderful, and she does a great job to stay involved.
Richland High School compared to Kennewick High School and Central Kitsap High School makes it look unique in its own ways; with its extreme school spirit, it gives you the movie like experience when attending the thrilling sports. But compared to when one is actually attending classes, Richland High School emphasizes cliques, diverse groups, and no intermingling between students of different back rounds. The school has a problem with diversity since most of the students there are extremely conservative, minority groups have no interest in interacting with majority groups and the same goes for them. Another concern would be teacher diversity, being that there is none. The teachers are great but I've only had one that I was able to relate to and I know many other students don't even get that.
I went to Richland for all 4 years and it's not too bad of a school. They care about their students but they have had trouble in the past with the school board. They take safety into consideration and there are options for tri-tech and running start. Sometimes it can be hard to get in touch with teachers if you aren't in person, like with running start but it's not terrible. I would recommend getting into clubs and taking classes that will challenge you, most teachers want you to pass. Also they have lots of groups to help involvement with diversity, especially if you are LGBTQ+. There are some conservatives but they aren't typically outright rude.
