Resetting my computer for a new user

Hi

I just purchased a 3 month old Dell Studio 1555 windows 7 OS 320GB HD 4GB memory. My question is this the person I purchased this computer from still has his personnal information all over the place. I added myself as a new administrator but his name shows up in places like C:/user/John Doe/documents/favorites. How and where do I edit the computer using windows 7 to show myself instead ? I also edited the computer to my name but it didn't change many of the instances where he is still shown

Thanks for the Help

Hi

You simply need to remove the other users Account Profile.

Open Control Panel/User Accounts.

Select manage another account.

Select the old account. Select the option to Delete the account.

You should see a prompt asking if you wish to remove the users files and settings. Select Yes.

Hope this helps.

Thank You for using Windows 7

With second-hand computers, especially if acquired from strangers
but perhaps even if acquired from a family member, your wisest course of
action would probably be to format the hard drive and start fresh. You
have problems because the original owner downloaded/installed viruses
or other malware.

Simply follow the computer manufacturer's Recovery instructions
to return the co0mputer to its original ex-factory state.
