Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- DannyTabletennisCanterbury, UK52 contributionsExcellent exhibits, helpful staff. The flying boat is the highlight. Being able to sit in the pilot's seat if this iconic plane was a highlight.Written 6 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarjanStoneStafford, UK38 contributionsThe museum is really interesting. The titanic exhibition had lots of information, photos and exhibits and a replica of a cabin onboard. In one room there was chance to hear the enquiry and evidence on the sinking of the titanic as well. There are plenty of audiovisual sections in the museum.
The museum also gives a history of Southampton. Well worth a visit and you can return for a further visit within 12 months with the entry ticket.Written 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff were great. Friendly, helpful and professional. Special thanks to Tim who made exceptional efforts in answering all our questions. He brought life and humour to the history of not only Southampton but England as well. Ask for him - you won't be disappointed!Written 31 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lucy TIsle of Wight, UK1,319 contributionsWe went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which we enjoyed and it was amazing how the stage was used and how they made the car look like it was flying. The directions to our seat were not particularly clear and I was very disappointed that there weren’t any programmes available to buy on arrival to the theatre - online only at the time of booking tickets. It was also annoying when people kept getting up to go to the toilet during the performance as it was distracting and a fellow guest was rude to me.Written 30 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hannah W1 contributionI had a good day overall. I will say that the day that day was really hot, and I was feeling really unwell, unfortunately I ended up being sick, but the folks in the subway on the top floor were very kind and let me take a bag and tissues and then the westquay staff member Ivona helped take me to the correct waste area, everyone was very kind and sympathetic and I very much appreciate it! Thank all!Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- EJGSouthamptonSouthampton10 contributionsWe went to see Take That last weekend. Amazing show, great venue. But if you’re only selling warm drinks on a hot day, you can not charge £2 for a cup of ice, that’s outrageous! £30 for a bottle of cheap wine i can cope with but charging for ice??!! - BenBarribalBasingstoke, UK65 contributionsOne of the best live music venues I have ever been to.
Door staff super polite and professional. Bar staff cheerful and very fast/efficient.
Layout of the venue inside is perfect for music, offering different vantage points all over, from dance floor in front of the stage to balcony bar looking down.
This was my first visit to The Brook - these places are closing one after another…. PLEASE support live music in venues like The Brook.
One of the best nights out we’ve had for a long time and we will absolutely return for more.Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Enjoyed the education, information and environment. Lovely team of volunteers. Great coffee and cake too.Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- S AUnited States2 contributionsA small, but very enjoyable gallery with the works nicely displayed with informative descriptions. I found both the permanent and temporary exhibits interesting. And it's free!Written 16 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 123-suesHampshire, UK91 contributionsBooked this for an 11th birthday party.
Everything regarding the booking was straightforward with really friendly communications checking details etc.
The 2 instructors managing our party were great- really patient and attentive, not easy with 8 x children to manage!
We booked the gold package which included food and goody bags- the pizzas looked great and quite rustic and the additional nibbles of sausage rolls, popcorn, biscuits, carrot sticks, hummus & squash was all enjoyed. The goody bags contained about 8 items including balloons, transfer, sweets, key ring etc.
I can thoroughly recommend both the venue and staff- thanks 😊Written 20 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew G1 contributionWe held our U14 girls football team end of season party here. I cannot speak highly enough of the service we received from start to finish. Very helpful on enquiry, very accommodating with costs and prices and very friendly and welcoming on the day. Excellent facilities inside the bar with the table football, ping pong table, basketball and pay bar. We all had a great time, would highly recommend and definitely be going back.Written 13 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louise WSouthampton, UK9 contributionsBooked for 12 kids (age 8) for a canoeing party. Easy to book online, were met at the reception desk and the kids kitted out with life vets and helmets and off they went on the large lake with instructor Jack (who was extremely patient). Hired the party room for food afterwards which was clean and big - all hassle free, no issues, fantastic huge big space for energetic kids. Free onsite parking too.Written 9 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
