- FlogfeAvignon, France128 contributionsVery nice place to visit. The buildings are very well looked after, the square is full of bars and restaurants to sit down, relax and appreciate the architecture.
The river and its clear and colourful water is worth some photos.Written January 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The whole history of the tempietto, and the various layers of enhancements made over the centuries, as well as the different uses it had, is really interesting, and I recommend that you sit through the video reconstructions available on the first floor.
Unfortunately it was being restored when we visited so it was kind of hard to see from the entrance and the convent windows, but still amazing.Written August 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a small platform just behind the small church, where you can take the most chilling photo and reflect on the colours, the spirituality and the history of the place.Written September 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SMerc87Port Huron, MI50 contributionsWe were surprised by how much we enjoyed this museum. Very interesting displays! It took maybe two hours to go through, at most, but was reasonably priced and well marked. Would recommend!Written February 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hendrik_NLVlaardingen, The Netherlands7,804 contributionsI call it a trek to Castelmonte, because, maybe caused by the confusing address on their web site, or an error from me, the satnav sent us completely in the wrong direction from our holiday home in Cividale. After we corrected the problem we reached Castelmonte, but via which roads and villages I will never know. The journey home was rather straightforward ...... But enough of this. I can tell you that the Santuario Castelmonte is an very impressive small village of two streets on top of the hill, crowned with a terrific church. Views from the square in front of the church over the surrounding landscape are breathtaking. How to get to the church. The straightforward way is to leave the car at the large parking lot at the base of the hill and walk. If walking uphill is a problem for people in the party, halfway the road uphill is a limited parking area with an elevator, delivering you in the church.Written October 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Raimondo B39 contributionsI regularly pay a visit to this Vineyard. Location and service is excellent. According to the average of wines in this Region, the quality is decent. I do love the 'Cunfins' selection, despite the price for a bottle is a little bit too high for this standard. The regular wine is also decent and the price is very affordable. If you visit Friuli Venezia Giulia I suggest you to pay a visit to Zorzettig wine yards .... A local cheese with salame will be the right side, whilst tasting a good glass of wine in good company!Written March 26, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Douglas645Horsham, UK206 contributionsA small museum with 4 rooms. The altarpiece and baptismal font in room 1 are outstanding. Very second rate painting in room 3. A wonderful white embroidered altar cloth up in room 4 from the 1200s.
Staff member very pleasant.Written July 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the outside, you think that it is just the distillerie. Go to the office and somebody will take you to the shop next door. Surprising! Well done! They offer degustation. And you find more than the famous grappas. They also have other alcohols, liquors etc... worth visiting!Written July 10, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sf58Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates622 contributionsThe small but very good Museum at the center of Cividale, all set by the efforts of the veterans of the Great War and volunteers.
One can travel through the history of Italy since the Unification up to the end of the Great War, throughout the trenches to the armistice! All followed by very interesting explanations of a young educated Italian volunteer.
We were very satisfied with the things seen there and the explanations provided.
A pleasant surprise supported by the enthusiasm of the volunteers, elderly people and the local authorities.Written September 19, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The square itself it is nothing special just a square that does not have lots of people that hanging around.Written July 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
