Sarah Whitear
Sarah Whitear is an FWO doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, KU Leuven, and is a member of the Research Unit Biblical Studies. Her research is supervised by Prof. Dr. Anthony Dupont (KU Leuven), Prof. Dr. Reimund Bieringer (KU Leuven) and Dr. Dominika Kurek-Chomycz (Liverpool Hope University). Her doctoral project relates to the reception of biblical texts pertaining to menstruation within the early Christian Church and how these texts were used in arguments about Christian orthodoxy and heresy; Jewish practices; and women.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in Theology and Religious Studies at Liverpool Hope University where she also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Biblical Studies and an internship in the Theology and Religious Studies Department. After leaving Liverpool, she spent one year at the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem. Subsequently, she completed a Research Master: Master of Advanced Studies in Theology and Religion at KU Leuven. She currently is a member of the CWST and the administration assistant for the European Association of Biblical Studies.
