Badfinger – Wish You Were Here

This is so loud and so bright sounding that my ears are still bleeding. The corrected CD is barely any better than the original one.

I should have known that this was going to be a shoddy job when I removed the CD from the case to see a big photo of Chris Thomas behind the CD. Why? I've never known the producer of a record to be included in the album artwork.

Even worse, you can also hear somebody talking during the alternate mix of Love Time and the talking goes on for ages.

This great album is just cursed.

The first and only time the master tape was used for this title. The definitive version.

If anybody has this for sale please let me know!

This is consistently solid album across both sides. Strong competition for Straight Up as best all-around Badfinger album. Great sonics on US press with very quiet vinyl.

Great sonics from a 1st US pressing with quiet vinyl despite 1973 - 74 oil crisis.

While the Collectors Choice is king for this release digitally, this version is a solid runner up and still quite affordable.

Just opened a still sealed shrink wrapped copy expecting a regular old US pressing. It’s a UK press!

Fidelity is very fuzzy and the cut is much too loud. Comes off like a budget label record.

My 2 cents worth... First, everyone makes mistakes and I'm happy to know Real Gone Music was going to offer new copies of the correct CDs. I NEVER got mine. Though someone at RGM wrote and said "No Problem" getting new versions. I purchased these 2 CDs back in 2019. In my opinion, BOTH CDs are awful. The first CD I played was "Badfinger" (1974). The second I heard the first notes of "I Miss You" I was disappointed. It was downhill from there. Listen to "Lonely You"! The drums are nearly gone. So weird. I could go on and on about the horrible sound on these 2 CDs, yes, the bonus tracks are very nice and I have no complaints but I would rather have the original albums and NO bonus tracks. I shelled out money for the original albums only. I really don't care about the bonus track AT ALL. In my house, the RGM versions will not get played. The UK CDs I bought 25 years ago are much much better. How can I get replacement CDS?

This is a must have for every badfinger fan! The songs are absolutely gorgeous just shared a name with a certain Pink Floyd album which blocks this out when you search for this.
