This is a great collection of some of Pryor's most important work. Of course it is not "safe for work" or children ! I grew up listening to the mainstream Richard Pryor and I'm just now listening to more of his comedy. He's a true pioneer and took important risks at a time that no other comedian was doing so in as honest a way. When you listen to this collection you can understand why he influenced so many comedians of ALL backgrounds, not just Chappelle and Eddie Murphy. Most of all he's funny as hell ! This Anthology is hilarious and awesome in so many ways.

This is classic and essential Pryor, and for my money is the best overall Pryor collection. There are lots of post-Pryor variations on his style, method and approach, and some of them are quite good, but there's only one, original Pryor.

I had some original LPs by him in the 70ies,since I had Black Us-soldier contact then..and they as well as also me then loved to listen...since he then said things meny people didnt dare saying then..also Milli Jackson..i just visited the USA: Memphis,New Orleans and New York and enjoyed how things have changes positively,but heard some old BVlack men talking and was thrown back to the 70..yoh men ye dig it..ye see where Im coming from.... so I had to find some Richard Prior CD since this is easier to play then the old record player....
