Cement Concrete Calculation

Cement Concrete Volume

$$ = Length \times Width \times Depth$$

$$ = 10 \times 7 \times 4$$

= 280 m3

= 9888.2 ft3

Wet Volume of mix

$$ = Total Volume + \left( {Total Volume \times {{52.4} \over {100}}} \right)$$

$$ = 280 + \left( {280 \times {{52.4} \over {100}}} \right)$$

= 426.72 m3

Note: Wet volume of mix is 52.4 % higher than dry volume
Amount of Cement Required
Cement Volume

$$ = {{Cement\;Ratio} \over {Sum\;of\;Ratio}} \times Wet\;Volume\;of\;Mix$$

$$ = {{1} \over {5.5}} \times 426.72$$

$$ = 77.59\;{m^3}$$

No. of Cement Bags

$$ = {{Cement\;Volume} \over {0.035}}$$

$$ = {{77.59} \over {0.035}}$$

$$ = = 2216.86Bags$$

Cement in Kg

$$ = No.\;of\;Cement\;Bags \times 50$$

$$ = 2216.86 \times 50$$

$$ = 110842.86kg$$

Note:1 Bag of cement = 0.035 m3.
1 Cement bag contains = 50 kg cement.
Amount of Sand Required
Sand Volume

$$ = {{Sand\;Ratio} \over {Sum\;of\;Ratio}} \times Wet\;Volume\;of\;Mix$$

$$ = {{1.5} \over {5.5}} \times 426.72$$

$$ = 116.38\;{m^3}$$

Sand in Kg

$$ = Sand\;Volume \times 1550$$

$$ = 116.38 \times 1550$$

$$ = 180386.18kg$$

Sand in Ton

$$ = {{Sand\;in\;kg} \over {1000}}$$

$$ = {{180386.18} \over {1000}}$$

$$ = 180.39Ton$$

Note: By considering dry loose bulk density of sand = 1550 kg/m3.1000 kg = 1 Ton.
Amount of Aggregate Required
Aggregate Volume

$$ = {{Aggregate\;Ratio} \over {Sum\;of\;Ratio}} \times Wet\;Volume\;of\;Mix$$

$$ = {{3} \over {5.5}} \times 426.72$$

$$ = 232.76\;{m^3}$$

Aggregate in kg

$$ = {\rm{Aggregate}}\;Volume \times 1350$$

$$ = 232.76 \times 1350$$

$$ = 314221.09kg$$

Aggregate in Ton

$$ = {{Aggregates\;in\;Kg} \over {1000}}$$

$$ = {{314221.09} \over {1000}}$$

$$ = 314.22Ton$$

Note: By considering dry loose bulk density of aggregate = 1350 kg/m3.1000 kg = 1 Ton

How can I calculate the concrete?

Use this free Concrete Calculator Tool to calculate the volume and weight of the concrete you need for RCC or PCC works.

After knowing the quantity of concrete this cement concrete calculator tool can also determine the quantity of cement, sand, and Aggregate for the casting of concrete elements.

Concrete code and Concrete ratio:

Concrete Grade Proportion of Cement : Sand : Stone pieces Expected Compressive Strength of 150 mm cube at 28 days
M7.5 or M75 1:4:8 7.5 N/mm2 or 75 Kg/cm2
M10 or M100 1 : 3 : 6 10 N/mm2 or 100 Kg/cm2
M15 or M150 1 : 2 : 4 15 N/mm2 or 150 Kg/cm2
M20 or M200 1 : 1.5 : 3 20 N/mm2 or 200 Kg/cm2
M25 or M250 1:1:2 25 N/mm2 or 250 Kg/cm2
Permissible stresses in concrete are Shown in the above Table.

Strength of Cement Concrete/Nominal mix

One of the most important properties of concrete is its compressive strength. In any structure system concrete is designed primarily to resist compressive strength. The qualitative measure of hardened concrete is done by its compressive strength. Concrete is identified by its characteristics strength by finding 150 mm cube strength after 28 days. And that value of characteristics strength is written by M. Grade.

The strength of cement concrete depends on various factors such as the amount of cement, sand, and aggregates (gravel), water cement ratio, temperature, amount of curing, Admixture used, and compaction at the time of concrete curing.

How to calculate Concrete?

Put the value of depth, width, and length of your concrete elements like slab, beam, column, and wall to calculate the number of cubic yards, cubic meters,s, or cubic feet of concrete and cement bags needs to fabricate your project work.

How to calculate concrete?

Steps to calculate concrete:

#1. First select the concrete element like beam, slab, column, stairs, walls, steps, or footings that want to concreting.

#2. Measure the length, width, and depth that you’d like to construct in US units (inch or feet) or metric units (centimeter or meter) of the concrete structure.

#3. Convert all the dimensions length, breadth, and height to feet(in US Unit) or all dimensions to m (in SI Unit).

#4. Pu all the dimensions in the above tool.

#5. Then the volume of concrete is generated in cubic meter or cubic feet according to your unit.

#6. To convert concrete into Yards: multiply cubic feet by 0.037 to convert in cubic yards.

Some Conversion Units for Cement concrete calculator:

Linear Unit Conversion
1 m 3.28 Feet
1 Yard 3 feet
1 feet 12 inch

Volume conversion chart for cement concrete:

Volume Unit  Conversion
1 cubic yard 27 cubic feet
1 cubic foot 0.028 cubic meter

Example for concrete calculator in Yards,

Example  for concrete calculator in Yards,

Here, I want to show you a calculation for a 20’ by 20’ and 3’’ thickness concrete slab.

1 .    20×20 = 400 square feet

2 .  3/12  = 0.25 feet

3 . 400x 0.25 = 100 cubic feet.

4 . 100 x 0.037 = 3.7 cubic yards

The above example is solving for volume in yards.

Now we can determine how many bags of cement are needed  by  using below conversion table:

.

Followings are the volume of each size bag:

*80 pounds bag contains 0.022 cubic yards.

* 60 pounds bag contains 0.017 cubic yards.

* 40 pounds bag contains 0.011 cubic yards.

How to calculate Amount of Cement, Sand and aggregate?

Let’s take a concrete mix of M20 to show the calculation of cement, sand , and aggregates:

#1. After calculating the volume of cement concrete,

Calculate Wet volume as :

Wet Volume = Total Volume + 52.4%  of Total Volume

One of the calculations is shown below:

Let, M20 (1:1.5:3) mix concrete..

Volume of cement =( Cement ratio/ Sum ratio)   X  wet volume

=(1/ 5.5 ) x Wet Volume

#2.  Sand requirement is calculated by

Sand Volume = (Sand ratio/Total volume) X wet volume of mix

= (1.5/ 5.5) x wet volume of mix

#3. Aggregate requirement is calculated by :

Aggregate Volume= (Aggregate Ratio/Total Ratio) x  wet volume of mix

= (3/5.5) X  wet volume of mix
