Pleasantly surprised at this fabulous museum! This museum is a bit away from Main Street in Vevey but worth the bus ride up the steep road to experience Chaplin's world museum and his home. We even found his burial site in a nearby cemetery. This is a museum in a very different sense and should not be missed. He was a true comedic genius.

    Must-see
My wife and I visited Chaplin's World in Vevey as part of a tour group. We had no great expectations but were blown away by how good the whole place, and experience, was. What a good museum can be. We started by looking through the old home, where Chaplin lived after being exiled from the US, which was full of fascinating memorabilia, newspaper cuttings, home movies, photos, old film extracts, scripts etc. We could have spent hours in here had we the time. But we had limited time so left the building and took a stroll around the garden. Very open but with some lovely old trees. Then we went to the cinema area to watch a 15 minutes film about Chaplin. It was interesting but then the screen peeled back and we could enter a whole world of Chaplin's works. An exhibition with models, movie extracts, interactive photo ops. - the list goes on. Very, very, very well done and a highlight. Highly recommended.

    Great hidden gem in Vevey
The studio and his home were very well done. Excellent renovation of the home. Lots of information and videos were available and displayed where you could really immerse yourself and learn a lot about Chaplin and his family. Five out of five! The admission ticket was a little expensive, though. If you are staying at a local hotel, you may want to check with them for a city pass that may give you a 50% discount.

    Outstanding Museum
I had been wanting to visit this museum for a number of years. I was expecting its primary focus to be on his life in Switzerland. I was glad to discover that it covers his entire life and career. The museum consists of 3 components: the studio; his house, and the grounds. We didn’t tour the grounds. The studio is elaborate and provides a detailed history of his life in London and film career. There are lots of video segments throughout, great artifacts and loads of information. The house focuses more on his life in Switzerland. It also goes in to some details about his pre-Switzerland life that aren’t covered in the studio. It was also informative and extremely well done. I was pretty familiar with Chaplin prior to visiting. I learned a lot and loved it. My wife didn’t know a lot about him and she also thought it was great. We arrived by train in Vevey and walked here which took 30 minutes or so. We took an Uber back to the train station for 13 CHF. Admission is expensive @ 29 CHF but it’s worth it. This place is tremendous.

    Highly Recommend
This was the most beautiful museum i have ever visited! The amount of detail and thought that went into this museum is apparent when you tour Chaplin’s home and the Studio. A truly entertaining and educational experience that left me wanting to know more about Chaplin’s life. I would recommend spending some time walking around the grounds and grabbing something to eat or drink in the Tramp Cafe afterwards. Definitely allow yourself a few hours to wander the museum.. there is so much to see!

    Enjoyable excursion
Conveniently taking the bus from the Station, it was a most enjoyable excursion. Arriving before opening time it was grand to drop into the Café for a snack. It’s a marvellous exposition of the comic’s life and adventures. From his birth in London, early years and his glory time in America. An initial audiovisual is a great introduction. Moving on to the family home set in expansive lush gardens was to enjoy a picture of their family life. With his fourth wife Oona O'Neill it was a happy few decades with their eight children, in the beautiful setting. But had to smile to see that even the most famous and well connected can sometimes get tripped up. Alluding to, as outlined in the film, when he purchased the estate for peace and quiet, didn’t realise that there was a nearby shooting range. That inconveniently rattled somewhat for a time the hoped for quietude.

A hidden gem and worth the price!
I hesitated when I saw the ticket price. However, I am so glad that I went in! The exhibition was wonderful (and has clear explanations), and I love how the museum recreated many of Chaplin's scenes in wax and made them real. I didn't really know much about Chaplin before visiting the museum, but now I am really interested in his works! I spent around 1.5 hour at the museum but felt rushed. I would suggest at least 2 hours (45 minutes in the house, 1h in the studio and 15 min in the garden)

Although my family is from the Lake Geneva area, I missed so far a visit at the Chaplin's world.
This December I have taken the time to go with my daughter and I need to say that it is absolutely fabulous. The presentation, animation, interactive spots as fantastic and brings you to the times, when Chaplin had his great times.
A must-see

Amazing place, great museum done with a huge love to this amazing Personality Sir Charli Chaplin. Three locations to visit - the house where Chaplin spent 25 last years of his life, his garden which he loved with all his heart and Chaplin's studios. Very beautiful and almost alive wax figures, many interesting facts from the full life of this humanist Mr. Chaplin, great movies and breathtaking cinema studio, where you are like inside his best movies.
Definitely must visit!
Tasty cafe for coffee and lunch on the territory and cool gift shop.

Excellent day out with the kids, we came from Geneva. The view is amazing to the lake, nice parc, good shop. The exhibitions in Chaplins house are amazing, we loved the display in every room, We loved the creative presentation ie. the Esinstein figure and the mirror in the bathroom and the movie about his trip around the World. The interactive stages at the end with the moving stage, the old film editing machines for sound effects you can try, the ticket office and movie sets etc, are great idea! One of the best museums I have ever been to.

Wasn't expecting a lot from a house where Charlie Chaplin lived after leaving the US but it was very well planned out. We first saw a short film which then opened up to a series of sets which were both informative and fun. Lots of photo opportunities. Then we visited the Manoir and walked around the grounds and again this was very interesting. Although the standard cost is a high CF29, you can get a half price card if you stay in a hotel nearby (ours was in Montreux).

this is a wonderful museum, with many clips from chaplin's movies. it also has his costumes, life size figurines, his oscars, letters, photos and of course it is located in his Vevey house. start with the studio as it is more than just a movie, and then move to the house and grounds. This was the highlight of our trip to vevey.

It was the home of Charlie Chaplin for about 25 years.
There is a museum in memory of Charlie Chaplin.
There are extensive gardens of about 140 acres all around
View of Lake Geneva.
Visiting time is about 3 hours and you can be there for a whole day.
This man was a genius!
