Gilbert Talbot, 7th Earl of Shrewsbury was the son of George Talbot, 6th Earl of Shrewsbury and Gertrude Manners. He was born on 20 November 1552. He married Mary Cavendish, daughter of Sir William Cavendish and Elizabeth Hardwick, between 9 February 1567 and 1568. He died on 8 May 1616 at age 63.
He gained the title of 7th Earl of Shrewsbury. He gained the title of 12th Baron Furnivall.
