- Finally got a replacement for my original jacket which was badly beat up upon arrival. Must mean that they've finally pressed the last of these. Also, it's just generally nicer than the previous jacket (with the DSD info printed on the back)
- Edited one year agoAt least the last batch of Truth tells the truth about it's source on the back cover :)
Oh, and it sounds great, digital or not. Glad I caught a copy at retail price from MoFi. - Received mine today. The jacket still says limited to 5,000, and mine is in the 4,000 range.
Interestingly, they added the sourcing information on the jacket itself. Now on the bottom of the back it says:
1/4" 15 IPS ANALOG MASTER > DSD 256 > ANALOG CONSOLE > LATHE
Instead of just a sticker on the front. - Somehow this very limited pressing of 5,000 copies is listed for sale at retail price on Music Direct on 11/30/22.
- Edited one month agoSounds fantastic! Obviously, some unfortunate decisions were made in the production process but this 45 rpm pressing does much to mitigate those decisions. This edition kills it!
- It sounds amazing, but I am baffled by the QC for MoFi lately. The two Eagles releases One-Step I bought had issues with Warp (directly bought from MoFi), and this record arrived with huge split seam and tons of scuffs on the records (directly bought from MoFi). Sound stage and dynamics are impressive. It is really well mastered and probably the best you can hear this record. That being said, when you charge $60+ for an album, you should put more effort QC'ign it. The worst part is for something like this record, they are out of stock, and they don't have ay replacement records or jackets. The only upside, they promised a replacement down the line, which could be in a year or 3.
- I have this and a late-70's press and I've found I'm listening to the late-70's press more because it's cut a tad hotter. For those who are looking for a good press of Truth and don't want to throw insane money for a used Mofi, look into this one: https://www.discogs.com/release/2215604-Jeff-Beck-Truth
- Sounds great! While not the best sounding record in my collection it still holds its own. Chanel separation is top notch. Detail is crispy. Bass is thick and punchy. Unfortunately my copy isn’t as quite as it should be. Pretty noisy in some passages.
