Shay Mitchell and boyfriend Matte Babel welcomed Atlas Noa into the world on October 20, 2019.

A Mother's Love

In a letter to her daughter, Mitchell wrote, "In my 32 years of life I thought I had seen a lot of places, experienced a lot of things, met a lot of people and felt love...then came you."

She added, "Truth is I had no idea I was capable of loving anything like this before you arrived. You wonder if that's just something people say, but it's as if the chemical makeup of my entire body and soul changed the minute we met."

"I wake up each day (and also every 2-3 hours ;) still in awe that you are mine, and I am yours. I'm still learning about you and I'll never grow old of watching you slowly wake up, catch a glimpse of me or your dad and focus intently, almost as if to say 'I know you.' Just know, sweet girl - Whatever you choose to do in this world, whoever you choose to love, wherever you choose to go, I will always be your biggest fan. I am already so proud to be your Mama."

She ended by joking, "The days of dressing you up as burritos and other snacks has only just begun. ❤️"

Mitchell joked of Atlas's first month celebration, "My Super Sweet One Month Birthday extravaganza was a success - we had trapeze artists, champagne fountains, and zebras..... just kidding. We had milk and naps."

Mitchell is already the a pro at making mom jokes! She captioned this photo of Atlas snuggled up like little teddy bear, "So cute it's unBEARable."

Mitchell opened up about racism amid the Black Lives Matter protests that are sweeping the nation. She wrote alongside a photo of her boyfriend, Matte Babel and their daughter Atlas, "I am hopeful that the next generation will abandon the prejudices of the past, and embrace and accept people based on who they are, versus the colour of their skin. Black or White. It doesn't matter. All she sees are people who love her. Racism is a learned behavior. It starts and stops at home."
