Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Marks a Major Anniversary in 2024

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind returns at a perfect time for fans looking to dive into one of Hayao Miyazaki's most beloved films as well as relive their childhoods, with 2024 marking the film's 40th anniversary. Both films will be shown in both their original Japanese and English dubbed versions. In addition to the full feature, screenings will include a special look behind-the-scenes look at Studio Ghibli Park near Nagoya, Aichi prefecture, Japan.

Ghibli Fest this year marks the studio's largest-ever set of theatrical re-releases, kicking off last month with Spirited Away's return to theaters. 14 films in total will be screened in 2024, with numerous anniversaries to celebrate in addition to Nausicaä. Howl’s Moving Castle’s 20th anniversary, Kiki’s Delivery Service’s 25th anniversary and Pom Poko’s 30th anniversary will all serve as reminders, and for some, introductions to Ghibli's enduring legacy.
