Elementary student shot by unknown man with pellet gun during recess at Columbus school

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Police are searching for a man who reportedly shot a Columbus City Schools student with a pellet gun outside the school building Thursday.

A CCS spokesperson said the incident happened outside the John Burroughs Elementary School campus on Sullivant Avenue.

During recess, a student was hit by a plastic pellet, and the school went into reverse evacuation by bringing all students indoors.

The student is okay. The spokesperson said the man has not been located and the district is working with Columbus police.
