This anti-abortion film concerns country girl Nancy Lee (Gertrude Bondhill), who is "wronged" by a city man, Richard Greenville (Wharton Jones), who prefers to go back to town and marry someone of his own class. Nancy is pregnant and runs away from home. The child is born, and years later, Nancy dies, leaving her son Dick (also, oddly, played by Bondhill) to fend for himself as a newsboy. Greenville and his wife have never had the children he so desperately wanted, and he winds up adopting Dick without realizing that it's his own son. Eventually Dick figures out that Greenville was the man who ruined his mother's life and walks out. In the midst of all this -- and totally unrelated to the plot up until now -- Dr. Ahlbad (Bert Merket), an illegal abortionist, has been doing his dirty work. In the end, the law catches up with the good doctor, and as he is escaping, he shoots a gun in the direction of where Greenville happens to be. Dick is witness to all this, and somewhere along the way, he has forgiven his father, because he jumps in and takes the bullet. This film was apparently modeled to repeat the success of an earlier anti-abortion propaganda film, Where Are My Children?.
