We were delighted that last week our very own Martin Little was presented with the runner up award for Local Community Champion as part if the "Proud of Bucks" awards. "[Martin was nominated] to recognise his work over the last two years, leading a group of local volunteers in the construction and development of the Holmer Green Jubilee Sensory Gardens in Earl Howe Road. Martin is seen here receiving his award from Peter Martin Chair of the Missendens Community board and Mimi Harker, Vice Chair. Martin is also joined by some of his dedicated volunteers who took time off from the gardens to join him for the presentation." See more

We've added a chef, Lewis Twydle to the listing today. He's based in Amersham and offers cooked meals straight to your door.
I've added Churchill's, who are doing collection from their Cosy Corner shop from Tuesday 4pm, to my spreadsheet and sorted out yesterday's layout problems. Pete.
Today's update includes, for the first time, Chiltern Brewery who apart from beer, sell a surprising range of other products and who will deliver or you can collect. Hopefully coming soon is the Cote Restaurant chain who launched delivery of their meals yesterday and should be able to deliver from their outlet in Amersham shortly. WATCH THIS SPACE! Can't read these spreadsheets in Facebook? They'll be on the Village Society web site shortly at holmergreenvillagesociety.org.uk Pete.
A few changes on the spreadsheet today. We've added the Wendover business, 2 Pound Street who will deliver to Holmer Green plus the Senior School food service won't be available between 7th & 21st April. I'm not sure if I saw that Holmer Green Kebabs are reopening. If you know,PM me. Pete.
This email. alleging it is from TV Licensing, is a scam. Don't supply your details!
An update on my businesses that deliver/collection spreadsheet - I've added the Co-Op who are arranging delivery through local organisations. I'm also trying the photo in a different format as some couldn't read it last time when it was enlarged. Pete.
I've been asked to post the following plea by Avril Thompson: -
Did you buy more face masks than you need?
Could you give some of them to help the NHS and Social Services, where they will be desperately needed?
...Having talked to consultants in Bristol and Exeter about the projected needs in their area we are investigating whether a collection service for this community is feasible, to help our medics with their battle.
Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 suggested a similar idea a few days ago. In about three weeks our hospitals will reach a peak demand for masks and even a small number would be helpful.
Are there any building companies with spare FFP3 or FFP2 masks? Fitting ventilators requires very intimate contact with patients and no-one without a mask is likely to do it.
Sadly the death of a medic will have much more effect on the sick community than the death of a patient.
If you can help, phone Contact Avril Thompson on 01494 712282 / 07773 333 605 or email avril_thompson@hotmail.co.uk.
No changes today to the list of businesses offering delivery/collection. Always willing to update if you know of any changes. Keep safe!
We don't have any updates today on local foods and drink businesses that make deliveries or where you can arrange social-distancing collection. The spreadsheet is now posted on the Holmer Green Village Society website on the Home page - holmergreenvillagesociety.co.uk. Updates will be made when information changes.
Here's the latest update on businesses offering deliveries. We've lost the Old Oak but Malt the Brewery is back. New to the list is the Pantry at Cosy Corner - don't confuse it with the Pantry at 51 in Prestwood. Please PM any corrections. Keep safe!
Here's the latest list of businesses that offer delivery or social distancing collection. We've sadly lost malt and others may pull out of this due to the understandable tightness of conforming with Covid-19 rules. Keep me updated if you know of anyone who can deliver/arrange collection or anything that needs removal.
Here's the latest update on businesses that will deliver, do drive through or click & collect. As I post in 3 groups, could you PM me any changes needed so I don't have to check each group? Any additions, please PM me these too.
Hi folks - here's an updated list of local food outlets which will deliver or you can collect in a safe way.
COME ON, FOLKS! I'M SURE THERE ARE MORE OUT THERE! Please let me have some more names of businesses (or individuals!) who can help feed the more vulnerable in society.
Taking up an idea which appeared on a Hazlemere community Facebook page and adding to it/adapting it, here is a new list of businesses that either deliver locally or from whom you can collect. I'm sure that many more take aways/shops in Holmer Green will deliver or it is possible to arrange a social distancing time for collection. If you know of one or, hopefully, if you run such a business, please comment on this post giving me details to complete the columns. I'll update as I get your feedback! Stat well!
