I highly recommend listening to Death Walks Behind you by Atomic Rooster
It is just dark, heavy, epic, and mind-blowing hard prog.
And you are right! This album kicks ass, period.
I'd also like to recommend Moundrag's first LP (Hic sunt moundrages), a real blast between Atomic Rooster's Death Walks... and ELP's *Tarkus (*France/SpindaRecords)
Thanks for sharing ;)
This is amazing. Thank you.
Yep definitely ! ... 'tis a phenomenal track, that one! I once had a tape of it, that I'd taped off the goodly Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show, which I played to-destruction.
Atomic Rooster were a seriously good band ,.actually.
Is there an archive of the FRS shows somewhere online?
Agree
I totally agree. It's a timeless album, powered in no small part by Vincent Crane's genuine mental struggles. You may also like 1968's The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, which Vincent played on, and if you enjoyed Arthur there, I would recommend checking out Galactic Zoo Dossier from 1971, which is a very underrated (and crazy) prog classic.
I do love Arthur Brown
