How to apply

How to apply for a place at Richard Hale School

TRANSFER AT YEAR 7

To apply for a place parents must complete the HCC Secondary Transfer Form since the School participates in the Local Authority Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme. For full details please refer to the current Richard Hale School Admission Policy on this website.

The school will admit an additional 12 students to Year 7 on allocation day and CI1 as a local agreement (intake of 192).  The school will revert to an intake of 180 (the School’s PAN) for CI2 and the remainder of the process.

Continued Interest: if a boy is not offered a place at Richard Hale School his name will automatically be placed on the Continued Interest List for Richard Hale if the school was ranked higher in his application than the school allocated. Parents need to contact the Local Authority to register their wish to join the Continued Interest List in the second round if this does not apply to the application.

Appeals: if a boy is not offered a place at this school his parents have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. Parents wishing to appeal who applied on line should log into their online application and click on the link ‘register an appeal ‘. Those who did not apply on line should contact Hertfordshire County Council Appeals Team.
