This university is not like others, this one challenges you to go above and beyond perceived limitations. The assignments allow you to reflect deep into not just the curriculum but life. I have never experienced a university such as this one. Some of the professors grade inconsistently and staff are never on the same page.
This was the best school I have ever attended. The program was consciousness based and we practiced mindfulness and meditation daily. It was more than just an academic program, it truly changed my life for the better. I graduated from the Ayurvedic Wellness and Integrative Health program. As part of the program we received a well rounded education in Ayurvedic practices and principles, this included nutrition and dietary therapy, herbal therapy, detoxification protocols, and lifestyle practices. We also learned hands on skill and clinical practice, as well as how to build a practice. The staff was absolutely amazing, everyone was so helpful and a pleasure to work with. This includes all the staff including the admissions department, the program directors, financial aid, tech support, and of course my professors. The professors I had worked with were all very inclusive, empathetic, knowledgeable, and experienced in their field.
I am a transfer student starting studies in Spring 2024. They are a great university and were able to transfer 90 credits for me. They are also a conscious community with a block system which is far better than standard.
This is the best school I’ve ever attended. Instead of one teacher there are teaching assistants & the class is broken down into groups so it isn’t overwhelming. The lectures are short & tailored to all learning styles (auditorial, visual). The classes are so insightful & you’ll be inspired & intrigued to learn. A specific Meditation technique is a requirement during the enrollment process & it’s life changing. I never knew consciousness based school existed & im grateful to be apart of the community that proves spirituality with science, physiology & practicality. You also don’t have to do everything at once, as the next week of class isn’t unlocked until the day of the prior weeks due date. Lastly, when you reach out to teachers their responses are timely & the feedback on how to improve is realistic & practical.
This University must be closed for good.
Guys beware of joining this University they put fake reviews here this is not a properly monitored University
-they target international students ,
-almost 99% of their professors are offshore hired though visa sponsorship and do not have a legitimate
expertise in the area they teach they lack .
-The University promotes cult
-The management is terribly rule
-exaggerated tuition and boarding cost for low quality education.
-Only international students join this program just for the sake of VISA not for its education
-please beware of joining their masters in software development program once you sign the contact and once they received the FAFSA government money you are done they are extremely rude and unprofessional
-Fake promotion as none profits.

I cannot stress enough how much I love this school and the program I am in. It works on a block system, which I think EVERY school should implement. The teachers and assistants have been so incredibly helpful. The students are inspiring. I absolutely love what I’m learning and I am thriving. I am strongly considering continuing in to get my masters degree. 1000% recommend.
Do NOT go to MIU.
This school is a total joke. They claim to be "consciousness-centered," but it's almost cult-like how they worship Maharishi. The courses, especially the online ones, are not challenging at all, and most of the professors just copy-and-paste YouTube videos and NYT articles.
I was promised a full ride, and I'm now being told that I will have to pay almost $5,000 because they chose to randomly stop accepting the Iowa Tuition Grant. Are you kidding me?? Classes go halfway through the summer, and the woke brainwashing is REAL. I do not recommend this school at all.
I'm a fully online student but have been to campus multiple times. The dorms are literally infested with cockroaches, and the social life is extremely dull and conservative.

If you’re considering enrolling in the university—please read this. This is an honest review. If you are here for education—look somewhere else. The teachers are students, so don’t expect much. The dorms are infested and the kitchen is not clean well. The student body is almost all international students studying computer science. The advisers are usually behind track. The place is nice and relaxing, it seems more as a retreat then university. The “consciousness” is just talking about spirituality for the ego. It’s more conversational rather then reality. If you look at it all realistically they are all regular people, behind the ideology of their guru. A few teachers are great, but very few—I would say they are all empathetic. Everyone has a different opinion, but I came here for the university experience. However, the environment is VERY NICE here, so if you need a safe place to express yourself then I would recommend it. And the trail around it is beautiful.
I am excited to attend Maharishi International University to continue my education. It is rare to find a school who offers Alternative Medicine programs. Applying to Maharishi International University has been a wonderful experience; my counselors have personalized the best program for me to reach my goals and accelerate my education.
Focus on transcendental meditation throughout the course of your study with plenty of options for retreats is nice. Professors are really empathetic and understanding , very flexible! The online student culture is pretty nonexistent which is a bummer BUT they really seem to be changing their approach for next year to incorporate a better online campus culture. They also emphasize Indigenous peoples as the true leaders of the environmental movement and are very respectful when it comes to crediting the cultures they receive the knowledge from.
I like that MIU is a consciousness based college and that they focus on the knower knowing the known of the content in which they are choosing to study. They do their best to accommodate life changes and are willing to work with their students weaknesses by focusing and accentuating their strengths.
What I would like to change about this college is to bring in more consciousness-based practices from other cultures to bring in more variety.

I love the consciousness-based education offered. I looked long and hard to find this school because it offers everything I am seeking in an education.
There’s a guy that works here named Aaron Hoffman, that likes to cyber bully people he doesn’t know. He even does it while on the clock and tells people to come fight him at his job. He also sells drugs and does drugs while on the property. Should be fired.
Best time of my life... had the chance to learn in an environment that challenged me without crushing me... meditation twice a day was awesome... if you like self-exploration and inner bliss it’s a great spot. The people are amazing and the small town is incredible for being in the middle of nowhere... miss those days... but they prepared me to succeed in what I’m doing now... so I’m still benefiting from my time there.
The education is special because of the depth of understanding in each area and how it relates to us as individuals... very powerful, but would recommend going and living there to have the full experience!
Genuinely, I love the block system. Being able to tackle one class at a time has really reduced the stress in my life and I feel like I'm actually absorbing the material because my focus isn't split between multiple subjects. I would prefer if the classes last 6-8 weeks instead of just 4, but it's still definitely worth it!
I also love the community. I've never felt more at home or had more friends in my entire life! This school attracts smart, kind, loving individuals and I feel very fortunate to have met the people I have.
The professors are great too, they are friendly and casual, I never feel afraid to ask a question or tell them I need help. I've actually become very good friends with several of my professors once I'm done with their classes. We really are one big cohesive community here!
If you're looking for a place to belong, I can't recommend MIU more highly. It's the only university I've ever returned to for a consecutive year.

I'm not a huge fan of Zoom learning, but the professors are trying their hardest to simulate learning in a classroom. I'm still getting my work done at least.
