  Dating in the 90s must have been so simple and fun. I feel duped.

  Barely any internet and no social media, having to call and talk to people on the phone, people are cynical but hopeful, and getting the date was a big deal!

  Its a quirky 90s romantic comedy based on a book. And I learned that this movie was the very first Netflix exclusive video, back when you could still get dvds! Nice guys definitely don't sleep alone.

  Surprisingly funny and heartfelt, this is a nice story about two people who’ve lost faith in love. The rom-com is set in Kentucky, a refreshing change from the seemingly endless New York- and LA-based films of the same genre. Despite my unfamiliarity with the cast, I thought they were all very strong. A good find!

  Long before red pill theory and incel proliferation online, the 1990's and early 2000's had a bunch of rom-coms that I think were inspired by the popularity of the relationship self-help book called "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus." That title alone suggests the two genders are basically aliens from different planets and that's how we should view one another in the dating game.

  Despite this movie's title sounding on point with, what I would imagine the headline of a sexually frustrated mass killer's manifesto, it does have its charm, but the build up is kind of disturbing. The central love interests in this rom-com are constantly being inundated and influenced by platitudes in their social circle. If…
