Enjoyed the lunch special while seated outside on a beautiful day. The tomato soup with bleu cheese has ruined plain tomato soup for me! It was a big portion and delicious. We were visiting the Laurel Park area and happened upon The Fountain, liked the look and snagged an outdoor table for lunch. Two of us had salad grain bowls with added protein (chicken and shrimp), another had the kale salad with grilled salmon and my...friend's husband got the special of personal size pizza and salad combo. We stopped in after shopping at the Women’s Exchange. Had seen this restaurant several times but never stopped in. Saturday afternoon and it was very busy. Waited only a few minutes for an outdoor table. Our server Ashlyn and one other server were the only...two on duty. That being said, we enjoyed the shaded table and spent our waiting time talking. We started with an appetizer of crispy Brussels sprouts. They had a soy and tamarie (sp?) sauce and tasted so good. We ordered a kale & quinoa power bowl and a meatball sandwich. Food was good and fresh tasting. With ice tea our total, before tip, was $40.More
This is your 'go-to' establishment for simple, convenient meals. We ate here twice in the span of a week and The Fountain always delivered to our expectations. The salads and pastas are not over-the-moon exciting, but certainly better than average. The wine offerings were reasonable...in variety and quality. They have both outdoor and indoor seating (both tables and bar counter) which is great. Definitely on our list to return to.More
No reservations on Monday evening are taken. We found out it was $5 pizzas (individual size) so what a surprise! Husband had the Pepperoni Pizza (good crust) and I had the Spaghetti Bolognese. We've walked by quite a few times and finally got a chance to drop in. Very casual atmosphere w/ friendly staff. Split a very fresh Cesar salad with a nice hint of anchovy in the dressing. My shrimp scampi was a great size and full...of garlic and other intense flavors. Loved it. Other members of our group enjoyed the pizza and the spaghetti bolognese with an interesting sauce that had larger bits of carrots.More
We just stopped in for drinks while waiting for reservations somewhere else. Great outdoor seating. The pizza delivered at tables near ours looked fantastic and we decided to come back the next day to eat. Unfortunately our plans changed and we didn't make it, but...this place is definitely on our list for the next visit.More
This is a welcoming, informal restaurant that advertises "Sarasota's Best Pizza" and may be right. The food is really good; the atmosphere is relaxed; and the wine list is excellent. We were staying nearby and dined there several times.
The Fountain is the most ideal restaurant for a casual night in the most charming and eclectic part of Sarasota. The atmosphere is relaxed...the service is good (especially Julia and Sophia)...and the food is excellent and well-priced. We ate at this casual place a number of times over a two week period. The food was consistently good including the pizza (ask for it to be crispy!), the salads, pasta and…well we pretty much enjoyed everything we ate. Monday is half price pizza...and Wednesday is half prize wine. But the highlight is their friendly staff including Daniella, Fatima and Sofia (all of whom deserve high praise and a pay raise because they are the reason we keep returning). A delightful place for a casual lunch: wonderful small pizza’s. The pizza dough was fresh and delicious. Salads are generous and also terrific….I highly recommend the Salade Nicoise. But the big star of the day was the Pomegranate Sangria.
The Fountain is one of our neighborhood restaurants. The Brussels Sprouts appetizer is fantastic. The thin crust pizza is a bargain on Mondays. There is plenty of outdoor seating. You can’t beat the location where Orange and Pineapple meet.
Charming restaurant with delicious artisian pizzas amongst many other things. They have inside bar and table seating and outdoor covered table seating. My friend had The Green Machine pizza and I had the Truffle Shuffle pizza. Both were mouthwatering, the dough was so flavorful!
Lovely cafe situated between the Laurel Park, Burns Court and Palm Avenue neighborhoods. Indoor and outdoor seating, nice bistro menu with an Italian influence. Friendly and efficient service.The small bar would be a good place to watch the game. Happy hour sure was popular with...the locals. A short (15 minute) stroll from both Selby Gardens and the Bayfront. Street parking is hit and miss.More
