- Alleycat0South Carolina371 contributionsTalk about fun! The moonshines are great. A friendly bark upon arrival made us realize we were in for a treat. Be sure to sample everything -- remember someone is the driver. The serve only works part-time but she should be the face of the sales...knowledgeable, engaging, history rich. Oh yes, this is a place that will have you returning often.Written 20 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alleycat0South Carolina371 contributionsAmazingly beautiful area and property. This is a definitely visit spot...we made a day visit, but I bet their music events are great because our single drop-by experience was. Beautiful, clean, welcoming tasting room. Neka was so welcoming and engaging, sharing both family and property history. Max out the tasting options because the wines are very good. Fun and imaginative gift wares.Written 20 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ann C7 contributionsThere for the breakfast buffet. Nothing is labeled - my husband put liquid chocolate on his steak thinking it was brown gravy! One of the fried chicken dishes had a super hot glaze but again wouldn’t know with no placards. Regular fried chicken was excellent. Good biscuits & gravy & patty sausage. Stay away from the $2.99 OJ, it’s awful - tasted out of a can. Person flipping pancakes served then underdone & nowhere close to round!
Restaurant better served to knock out a small part of the seating & enlargen the buffet area where people not bumping into each other! And again, some description of buffet items would be helpful to cut down on waste.Written 11 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In a beautifully restored Carnegie Library Building is the small museum devoted to Rockabilly, Rock, and Blues influences that shaped rock and roll for decades. There is a great exhibit detailing the life and music of Carl Perkins and the tributes paid to him by many musical legends including the Beatles, and Eric Clapton. Our host, Becky was outstanding. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and a sweet person who clearly loves her job. She was also very informative and even gave us a short personal tour of the museum highlights after showing a production quality video that depicted how Jackson became the birthplace of rock and roll and how Jackson was the home of the first Hard Rock Cafe. Admission is only $10 and military/veterans' admission is only $5. Highly recommended if you are looking for the hidden gems of America.Written 14 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon GLubbock, TX207 contributionsA quiet walk on the boardwalk in the damp grove. Enjoyed seeing the red-tailed hawks and a large rabbit! There were also a few other walkers and a fisherman on the lake.Written 7 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darren BCourtland, VA558 contributionsCasey Jones museum is a must -see for railroad enthusiasts.
Facility documents and chronicles the life of John Luther "Casey" Jones. Casey was a young steam locomotive engineer who died in a railroad accident while sacrificing his life to save the lives of the passengers on his train.
Interesting life story, as well as lots of railroad paraphernalia to view in the museum. There is a smaller scale replica of the famous 4-8-0 locomotive that Casey was driving at the time of the accident
Allow 45 minutes or more for the tour of museum, locomotive and house.

The town is very blessed to have this facility. It is laid out really well and easy to navigate. The seats aren't the most comfortable in the work and are a bit crowded. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. The ushers were all very friendly. It was a great experience.Written 21 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- SpongeKALindale, TX138 contributionsI swung by here for two reasons.
1.) When I am on the road, I try to find local goodies to bring home to my family and what better place to find it than a local Farmers Market?
2.) The list of things to do in Jackson was rather sparse.
The website said it opened at 7, and while the actually area did open at 7, there were almost no vendors open at that point. I hung around for a while and by 9 there were a few vendors setting up shop and a few more actually open so I wouldn't recommend going before 9-10am. I am glad I went though. There were a couple different ranchers selling local meats, one lady selling bread and cookies she baked, local honey, misc odds and ends, and the jackpot I found was one woman selling homemade elderberry juice (my wife loves the stuff).
If you are looking for local good in particular, or somewhere to walk around on a Saturday morning, this is the place to be. Just go ahead and sleep in a bit though.Written 2 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
