Buck-O-Nine
Went and saw Buck-O-Nine at the Yucca Tap Room in Tempe on Friday (4/19/24) and I have to say it was an amazing show. It was a crazy venue to see them in because it was so intimate so that was awesome. Also, their performance was top notch. Considering how old we ALL are and how long they’ve been doing it, it’s conceivable to expect they’d mail in a few songs or even entire performances but not at all. Every song sounded crisp and clean. They were into it with the fans and the set list did not disappoint. Mostly Twenty-Eight Teeth, as you’d expect, but they threw some others in. I have to say they are one of my all time favorite ska bands and I think that if any of you have the chance to see them you should take advantage of it.
Here are some photos
hey Mike... calling in sick?
Yeah, fuck you.
Weird limewire keeps telling me that’s irishdrinkingsong_dropkickmurphys.mp3
Well... I now have drink and drink and drink and drink and fight stuck in my head....
Today's a pretty good day.
That’s awesome, always wanted to see them
Good lord. I saw them in Ithaca, NY in 1994! I can’t possibly be that old.
where's the trumpet guy?
Not sure. They only had 6 of the 7 band members there. And they didn’t elaborate as to why.
Man I wanted to go to this one. Sold out before I could grab my tickets.
Bite Me Bambi was there too?
Yep. Pretty good show as well. Except I think the sound engineer had her vocals turned down too low because she was hard to hear. Or it could just be my old age….
I was also surprised by 2Tone Lizard Kings. I am not sure what I was expecting but they killed it. They were the opening act and they definitely got the crowd going.
It felt like 2Tone Lizard Kings opened for just about every ska band that came to town....haven't seen them in a long time though. Good to know they're still at it.
Sucks that you couldn't hear Tahlena well...she sounds great live. I got to see them last summer at Supernova Ska Festival and they were awesome. Saw Buck O Nine at the 2021 version. Good times!
Yucca 🥰🫡🤘🏻
Good times. My band opened for them and Save Ferris in 97' at a show in Riverside CA. Those were the days.
Yoooo, I was there was a fucking blast! So much fun! I was skanking so much some random guy told me to stop, lol. I told him to fuck off and move somewhere else, its a ska show bruuh
Did they play Cook Me Into the Bowl? Probably my favorite Buck o Nine song 🙂
