Bad Boy - Wilde Life

Bad Boy

Song written by Marty Wilde.
Released as a single in 1959, this was Marty’s first officially released self-penned song. Marty confessed later that he wrote the song out of frustration, because there weren’t any suitable songs for him to record – his previous hits had all been cover versions of original American hit singles.

A mere 61 years after its original release, Kim performed the song together with Marty and her sister Roxanne on the show That Was Then… This Is Now!.

Cover versions

‘Bad Boy’ has been covered by Jef Barbara, Fabienne Delsol, Robert Gordon, Françoise Hardy, The Jaguars, Robin Luke, Tex Rubinowitz, The Staccatos and Freddie Starr.

Lyrics

All the people down the street, whoever you meet
Say I’m a bad boy, say I’m a bad boy
Say I’m a bad boy

Even dear old dad, when he gets mad
Says I’m a bad boy, says I’m a bad boy
Says I’m a bad boy

Well, you see now, I got a girl
And we stay out late, almost every night
Well, the people just stare and they declare
Well well, it just ain’t right

But if only they knew how I love you
They’d say a bad boy, could be a good boy
Who’s just in love

Well, you see now, I got a girl
And we stay out late, almost every night
Well, the people just stare and they declare
Well well, it just ain’t right

But if only they knew how I love you
They’d say a bad boy, could be a good boy
Who’s just in love
So much in love
So crazy in love
So much in love
