What travelers are saying
- GerbilatorOxford80 contributionsI arranged to spend only two hours, but could have spent three.
First: amazingly comprehensive collection - everything from the earliest calculating devices (eg Napier's bones) and pocket calculators to Cray supercomputers, Apple Macs etc right up to the present day.
Second: well-chosen "themes" connecting them. Eg rise of IBM, CDC, Cray, Apple, and the business challenges (and sometimes dodgy practices!) that emerged.
Third: lots of 2-3 min documentary films on "mini-theatre" screens dotted around the place.
Restaurant and shop. Well worth a major detour.Written April 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My husband is a pilot and I am fascinated by airships so we allocated two hours to see the little museum.
As someone else said, it is a packed jumble of Moffett aviation history sorted into chronological rooms. You have to look closely on the walls, overhead, and in the bottom of display cases to see all the memorabilia.
The veteran docents will point out certain pieces in each room and talk with you as much as possible. I like to be given the highlights then linger looking at the details and the items that particularly interest me. My husband loves to hear "war stories" so he spent more time with the docents while I spent time on my own in the small spaces.
I was pleased and my husband was pleasantly surprised with the experience since he had not expected much. We had allocated maximum 2 hours to allow time for lunch and afternoon at the computer history museum. We could have spent longer to really see all the details (and hear all the docents' stories)--but we are history and aviation buffs. We wished we hadn't left so soon for the computer museum as we were disappointed in it, but the two locations are close to each other so you can combine visits.Written February 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Apart from it being cold and windy, I know that could not be helped, after all it was April.
It was very busy and a good buzz around. All the stall holders were very helpful and knowledgeable about their items.
The food served was excellent. The young lady in the coffee hut, outside, was very good, but a little slow, needed a bit of help.
The only problem I found was the name, as I would not call it a Farmers market, but a Craft market. As a Farmers market should sell fresh food, meat and veg, to take home, apart from the bread seller, there was not much food to buy to take home.
Will be making it a monthly trip.Written April 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - C KMadison, WI1,007 contributionsWe attended an excellent production at TheatreWorks! It was a one man show, who performed musically, acted, wrote it, etc. The theatre was the perfect size for this production. The acoustics were just right, the views good and the seats comfortable.Written February 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Basha Fradkin-Gelman Opie42 contributionsI owned my home on 726 Rustic Lane, Mountain View, CA and was a walk away from Cuesta!.. In the summer they have free concerts, even a Mariachi band. Bring the kids. And, if you need medical attn the hospital is a walk or quick drive away. My kids were born there! You can bike around the park, and the kids have a playground.Written September 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave PMountain View, CA23 contributionsOn many occasions this year we've biked from Shoreline Lake past Moffitt Field, down to Sunnyvale and back. Well-maintained packed-dirt-on-the-levees trail, plenty of birds and open space. It's been a real sanity-saver during this year of mostly-stay-at-home lockdown!Written March 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aparna JSan Francisco, CA326 contributionsLocal park filled with kids and people chilling on the grass. Parking is pretty easy in that area. While it's a nice park, it's not really a place worth seeing if you're visiting or passing through.Written September 28, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah GHarrogate, UK1,494 contributionsNice to be able to visit, see the bikes and some of the campus. Place to stop for a coffee. We did a self guided drive with commentary, which was a great way to see the area, and this was one of the stops.Written April 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mika'ele Keni'St. Petersburg, FL716 contributionsAhhh yes the famed Shoreline Amphitheater...
I think this is one of the premier venues in the Bay area for concerts that won't cost you an arm or a leg.
They stopped allowing you to bring your own lawn chairs to have a year ago...or maybe a bit longer. The make you rent a chair at $15 or $12 if you book it a bit earlier. However, you can bring water and snacks in. They have several rotating food trucks and their own food stands all around the venue for dining options. Beverages of course have your standard 1 million percent entertainment venue rip-off markup...
They really ought to do something about the lawn. It's so uneven, full of holes, patches of dirt and dry grass complimented with gopher holes and bumps / mounds. I highly suggest avoiding the lawn if you come wearing heels...or have issues walking.
The parking is very crowded, ingress and egress can turn into a nightmare, especially for the sold out shows. If the Gods smile upon you...good for you. Lately they've been trying to charge you a $50 early exit fee. They tend to switch lot capacity like a bi-polar slumlord. The only thing that keeps me coming back to this venue is the selection of artists that perform here...
A lot of legends come through...Written August 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Reception is in the backyard area and they setup enough lights to give it a great ambience. Parking is limited so get share ride service!Written December 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- miniFremont, CA202,196 contributionsWe went to the very nice park in the downtown area of Mountain View This is also where the library, city hall, and performance art theater is. There are places to dine before or after visiting.Written July 10, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
