As of August 29, 2011, these steps will allow you to restore your Blackberry Curve 8530 to Factory Settings. This will reset your Blackberry device to the same state it was in when you removed it from the box. 1. Click the Blackberry Menu button to the immediate left of the touch pad below the screen. 2. Look for and click the Options icon which looks like a wrench. 3. Click on "Security Options" 4. Click "Security Wipe" You will now need to select the data you would like deleted from your Blackberry. For a full wipe to restore factory settings, do the following: 5. Place a check mark beside "Emails, Contacts, Etc." (Be sure you have first backed up ALL data as this will remove any of the above items and you will not be able to restore them without a backup!) 6. Put a checkmark beside "User Installed Applications" 7. It is not advised to put a checkmark beside "Media Card" if you have one inserted in your Blackberry unless you want to completely wipe everything from your SD Memory Card. I always remove my SD Card from my Blackberry to ensure it is not accidentally erased during this procedure. 8. Type the word "blackberry" (without the quotation marks) in the bar at the bottom. 9. Click the "Wipe" button. 10. You will get a popup that tells you that the device is "Erasing Information. WARNING: Do NOT pull the battery out until erasing is complete!" Once this process has completed, your Blackberry should be at its factory default settings and you can then proceed to restore any data such as address books, ringtones, applications, photos, music, etc. onto your Blackberry smartphone. Remember that you will have to set up any e-mail accounts that you have before you`ll be able to receive email on your Blackberry again.

Oftentimes, We revert our phones back to factory settings as a last resort to a problem or we feel that the phone is not working at its peak.

To restore factory default settings for BB Curve 8250 :
• Find “Wipe Handheld”
• Scroll to “Options”
• Go to “Security Options”
• Then look for “General Settings”

• To restore factory settings, highlight “Include third-party applications” and press the Navigation Key
• When you choose the box right next to the menu item, the selected data will be erased

I am including the steps to restore BB Curve 9230 since I don`t know the exact Blackberry Curve you are using :
• Perform a Security Wipe : If you don`t know how to do this, You can start by pressing the Menu key twice > Options > Security > Security Wipe
• To restore settings back to default : Highlight the following – Emails, Contacts, Installed Applications and/or Media Card
• When the box next to the menu is chosen (V) then the selected data will be deleted
• Highlight the area at the bottom and key in “blackberry”
• Scroll to Wipe and press the Navigation key to finally restore the phone to its factory settings.

To restore your blackberry device to factory setting you should do following steps: Options > Security Options > General Settings > Services > Wipe Handhold. After that you will be noticed with following message: "Warning all application data will be lost! Message services and other Services will be turned off. Include 3rd Party Applications? I am trying to do the "factory reset" and I have gone to Options, Security Options....but there is nothing called "general settings"...there is several things listed but not that. There is something called "security wipe", however it seems to only be asking about deleting email, etc. Any ideas?

HEY I FIXED IT!! So after I had done the factory reset I had uninstalled a lot of apps I wouldn`t use including TERMS OF AGREEMENT of different languages ex. Italian TOA. I just reinstalled ALL TOA for all languages now my trackpad can scroll through it !

I backed up everything onto my computer with the blackberry software. I have my contacts backed up on my computer/sim/android phone. I don`t know what else to do... I tried safe mode/cardboard between phone and battery/factory reset.

Its really good that you have a blackberry curve phone from germany.ok so it uses a sim card. i think that it can work both the ways, even with sim card and metro pcs . best of luck.

Download a program called JL Cmder, and then go through the options and then you�ll find your phone on factory settings. Hope it works.
