I've eaten here several times over the years. A few times for lunch when few people are eating lunch, leaving the staff just for myself. I've also been in at dinner but there's more people in for dinner but I sit at the bar on the left to be up close to the grill to be able to see the two Oysters chefs work their magic right infront of you and I can put tips in the basket for these two men they both work hard so you can eat well. The food is always good, but you might have to wait a bit for fresh hot food. All types of creole foods with low country foods also southern foods.

Highly recommend the jambalaya! Indoor and outdoor seating. We stumbled across this walking around, but I noticed people on food tours stopping there. Must say it is popular.

New Orleans Creole Cookery was our choice for Mothers Day Brunch and again a wonderful dining experience, again with Creole and Cajun dishes. My favorite where was a the charbroiled oysters which to me were the best oysters we had during our trip. Excellent service and again highly recommended

The outside patio was lovely and the evening was perfect. The food....meh. Our waiter was nice and the food was very fast. It just wasn't so great. Maybe we ordered badly, but we wanted some jambalaya and local type food.

Had an excellent late lunch of Caesar salad, fried pickles, and Rollin’ on the River cocktail, Brandon was our server, and he was very kind, attentive and fun to chat with. Our food arrived in a very timely manner. A+++!!

The description of menu items is not what you get. The food was extremely salty as well. The server was MIA after he took our order. My friend had to get up and get the manager regarding a dish which was returned. The manager had no knowledge of the dish or an explanation. Really? As an aside, the couple sitting next to us overheard our complaints and said their meal was horrible. One dish was burnt and the other insanely salty. They came to the restaurant as well as us based on the good reviews of this restaurant.

Great spot for a birthday celebration. This place did not disappoint. Amazing staff, beautiful environment, great food, and a wine special on Wednesdays!

We had a very bad dining experience there. The Gumbo tasted like it had been warming on the stove for a week. The service was terrible. The restrooms were filthy. We were charged for items we did not order. We did not get items we requested. The prices were some of the most expensive we had seen in the French Quarter, and we were there for 5 days. Beware this is another tourist trap that is ripping people off.

After stumbling into an oyster bar near Cafe du Monde, we were pleasantly served and received an amazing tutorial on oysters from the one and only “Gator”! He invited us to the Creole Cookery for grilled oysters, where he was working that evening. I can honestly say that it was the best seafood I’ve ever had!!! My boyfriend and I were blown away by not only the delicious food, but the friendly atmosphere and staff! We will definitely return!!! Thank you, Gator!

We were bringing first time visitors to this restaurant after highly recommending it. We couldn't sit on the outside patio because of the constant loud buzzing. So, we were seated inside in a large room and had the whole room to ourselves. Service was quite slow and we had to remind our server to get our wine and other drinks. Because of something in the kitchen, our food came out in at staggered time instead of all at once. We understood the difficulty in the kitchen was the cause of this. As usual the Gumdo YA YA was amazing. I was so happy that the taste was wonderful and the chef hasn't changed the recipe to what tourists think gumbo should taste like. I wish I could say the same for the red beans and rice. No great flavor and too much spice. But all this was minor in comparison to what happened a little later. We were enjoying our quiet lunch when at least 20-25 people were escorted in and seated right next to us. We thought it was a large family but soon found out that it was a tour. The tour guide was talking so loud that our conversation couldn't be heard over him and the commotion from the tourists was very chaotic. Needless to say, we rushed the last of our lunch, decided to forgo coffee and dessert (I was really looking forward to the Banana Foster Cheesecake) asked for our bill and left in a hurry. To add insult to all of this, since there were no bags available, I was forced to carry four containers of leftovers several blocks to our auto. I understand that some tours want to give the tourists a taste of New Orleans food but I think that the tour patrons should be seated in an area not adjacent to other paying guests. I will avoid this restaurant for quite some time.

Stopped in for an early dinner on a Thursday. It was around 5:15pm and it wasn’t too busy yet. The courtyard has good ambience that’s should be romantic at night. Bourbon mix boil was abundant and cost $42. The fried catfish/shrimp platter was also a good sized serving.

In town for a work trip and while I was at meetings, my fiance found this gem. We stayed a few days after the meetings ended and he made me try it. I'm so glad I did! It was absolutely amazing. Our company hosted an event a few nights prior and there were food trucks, one being Draggos, where they made chargrilled oysters. It was the first time I had them and they were super good.. until I came here. They were absolutely one of the best things I have ever ate! To make it even better, we sat at the bar and the bartender Erineesha was super sweet and attentive. Isaiah, the chef who was behind the bar chucking the oysters was funny, down-to-earth, and a very hard worker. Out of all the places I've tried, this was 100% the best experience and most delicious!

Joined a business groups at Creole Cookery, enjoyable dinner and experience. We shared several starters including gator bites (nice and spicy), crab cakes (more bread than crab), and grilled oysters (fantastic). Jasmine our server was fantastic with water, drinks, recommendations, etc. Interesting that different dishes come out of different kitchens yet all arrived at almost the same time (first one then the other so two trips). For the main I had the red fish which was enjoyable. I skipped desert (those that did were pleased with the bread pudding with banana and ice cream or the peanut butter chocolate cake). Good and reasonably priced.

The food did not have a New Orleans flavor. The alligator bites were nothing but pork sausage. The shrimp and grits included pork sausage, which diminished the flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for the Southern Creole flavor. The server, however, was excellent!

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
