Myrna Loy Sanderson Grissett Obituary

ONSLOW COUNTY - Myrna Loy Sanderson Grissett, 85, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Facility in Goldsboro, NC.
A funeral and celebration of Myrna's life will be 12:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Myrna was born and raised in Onslow County. She ran several businesses over the years. They operated the Western Auto in Maysville NC for 15 years until 1985 and started Trent Restaurant in Pollocksville NC in 1985 and ran until 2014. Myrna was honored as the female pillar of the community in Jones County for operating multiple businesses over the years. Trent Restaurant was named as one of North Carolinas best restaurants to eat in Our state magazine.
Myrna was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Donald Sylvester Grissett; son, Donald Craig Grissett; brothers, Sandy "Janice" Sanderson and Ronnie Earl Sanderson; and sister, Mona Balderelie.
She is survived by children, Wanda Conner (Douglas) of Kinston, Terry Grissett (Pamela) of Jacksonville, and Tim Grissett of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Dana Laws, Douglas Conner Jr., Jeremy Grissett, and Regina Rathe; and great-grandchildren, Emma Conner, Jack Conner, Alexis Laws, Anna Kate Laws, Baylee Rathe, and Bree Rathe.
