      Carl Faulkner was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Faulkner began his career with a role in the Pat O'Brien mystery "Crack-Up" (1946). Faulkner was nominated for a Sound Academy Award for "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 1959 as well as for a Special Effects Academy Award for "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 1959. Faulkner began to focus on film after appearing in "Deadline at Dawn" (1946) and the Robert Young drama "Crossfire" (1947). Faulkner was most recently credited in the dramatic adaptation "The Young Lions" (1958) with Marlon Brando. Faulkner passed away in August 1948 at the age of 58.
