Dustin "Dusty" DeSantiago Obituary
Dustin (Dusty) Joseph DeSantiago, age 44, of Mankato, passed away unexpectedly on January 6th, 2024. Dustin was born on September 6th, 1979, to Tony DeSantiago and Janet Smith. He attended Mankato West High School and lived in Mankato with his wife Megan (Schneier) DeSantiago.
Dusty was smart and excelled at everything he did. He made a career as a skilled carpenter perfecting so many of his crafts. He was fun loving, goofy, and enjoyed making people laugh. Dusty enjoyed staying active and loved to ride his Harley Davidson.
Dusty and Megan were married on April 1st, 2017. They shared a quiet life in Mankato with their beloved dogs Louie, Odin, and Loki.
Dusty is survived by his wife Megan, parents Tony (Amy) DeSantiago and Janet Smith. He is survived by five sisters and one brother including Emily (Torrey) Rand, Valerie (Brian) Bentdahl, Dallas (John) Starke, Lisa Ryan, Nick Smith, Kirtlynd Smith. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Megan was diagnosed with MS in 2010 and Dusty was her primary caregiver. We feel it would have been Dusty's wishes to see her able to stay in their home and be well taken care of.
There will be a small informal gathering on Monday, January 15th, at the Skyline City Hall in Mankato from 3-6pm for those wanting to share in saying goodbye to him with his family. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is assisting the family with arrangements. www.woodlandhillsfh.com
