In 2007, Darsheel Safary and Aamir Khan gave a blockbuster hit with 'Taare Zameen Par'. The film, which was the directorial debut of Aamir, explored the life and imagination of Ishaan, an 8-year-old dyslexic child. He also acted in it apart from directing the film. The film, penned by Amole Gupte, went on to bag a National Award. Aamir Khan has now announced his upcoming film titled 'Sitare Zameen Par'. The actor mentioned that the film's theme is similar to 'Taare Zameen Par'.
AAMIR KHAN ANNOUNCES NEW PROJECT
After the failure of 'Laal Singh Chaddha', Aamir Khan has now announced his next project. In an interview with News18, Aamir said, “I have not spoken about it publicly and I won't be able to say much now also. But I can tell the title. The title of the film is 'Sitare Zameen Par'. You must have remembered my film 'Taare Zameen Par' and the name of this film is 'Sitare Zameen Par' because we are moving 10 steps ahead with the same theme. 'Taare Zameen Par' was an emotional film. This film will make you laugh. That film made you cry, this one will entertain you."
Aamir added, "But the theme is the same. That's why we kept this name very thoughtfully. We all have flaws, we all have weaknesses, but we all also have something special, so we are taking forward this theme, but this time, the character of the special child Ishaan in that film -my character helps that character in 'Taare Zameen Par'. In 'Sitare Zameen Par', those nine boys, who have their own issues, help me. It's the opposite.”
According to PTI, Aamir will also produce the upcoming film.
ABOUT 'TAARE ZAMEEEN PAR'
In 'Taare Zameen Par', Darsheel Safary played the role of Ishaan Awasthi, who suffers from dyslexia. Aamir Khan played the role of art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh. The film shows the life and imagination of Ishaan, whose poor academic performance leads his parents to send him to a boarding school, where a new art teacher, Nikumbh, suspects that he is dyslexic. He helps him to overcome his reading disorder.
'Taare Zameen Par' released on 21 December, 2007. It was commercially successful, earning Rs 1.35 billion worldwide.
