Santaluces Community High School Reviews
Rating 3.69 out of 5 595 reviews
Santaluces for me was an overwhelming experience both in a good way and a bad way. The good parts included the club activities which were always fun, I personally loved the pep rally’s, some of my teachers were very funny and cared about the mental health of their students other teachers not so much. The dress code was kind of ridiculous though and kind of one-sided. Also other things that I didn’t like was how AP would deal with other student personal issues, the idea of ID’s was kind of a scam if anything the reason was genuine but the execution not so much. Since most of the bad part does not gravely affect I would like to say that Santaluces was one of the places where I met my biggest group of friends, either from the different academies or clubs. Overall, my experience at Santaluces was not bad at all and I dare say that one of the main things that I’d absolutely love for them to change is to change the school paint color (the grey has got to go with all due respect).
Santaluces High School excels in fostering student success with caring teachers and dedicated counselors. These professionals provide personalized guidance for academic and personal development. Despite the absence of transportation for soccer players, the school maintains a strong sports culture, particularly in soccer. Santaluces offers a well-rounded experience, with adequate facilities and a variety of activities, including the lively Santaluces pep rally. The high participation rate (90%) in spirit weeks underscores the strong sense of community. In summary, Santaluces High School stands out for its academic excellence, vibrant extracurriculars, and a supportive environment that prioritizes the holistic growth of its students.
I attended Santaluces for 9th, 10th, and 12th grade. During that time, we had a few key changes in administrative staff, but no real changes to school policy. Staff unfairly punished female students for dress code violations in comparison to male students. Guidance counselors are overworked and not very helpful to graduating seniors. There is no support offered for Queer students and little action against reports of bullying. School is underfunded and teachers are overworked.
