Cliff Wheatley IGN Movies A retread of old jokes and comic book movie send-ups with half-baked voice work and very few surprises or moments of genuine enthusiasm. Rated: 5.4/10 May 19, 2014 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies It may have been quite clever and hilarious a dozen or more years ago when it was conceived. Unfortunately, this just isn't a movie that works in 2014. Rated: 1.5/5 May 13, 2014 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com It's easy to dismiss the softball screenwriting, but there's a definite speed to the picture that's encouraging, sprinting through bits of awful humor in an irreverent manner befitting these stoner superheroes. Timur h That was the worst animated movie i've ever seen. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/18/23 Full Review jamie m So funny if you love Jay & Silent bob you will love this its so vogure as hell Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Some amusing inside jokes relating to Kevin Smith's live-action movies and another chance to see a cameo from a comic book legend for all of us who still miss him dearly can't disguise Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie's surprisingly weak writing for a (possibly non-canon) View Askewniverse production (note that Smith's stand-alone films never reached the same critical heights as the View Askewniverse movies, with the notable exception of Zack and Miri, and even that got retconned into his 'Verse in 2019...just FYI), a plot based off of a Smith-penned comic book that didn't translate well into movie form and crudely drawn animation that looks far from pretty, especially when compared to the last time a Kevin Smith production ventured into animation (the short-lived Clerks cartoon had some minor animation errors here and there, and YMMV on the art style taking some cues from "Superman: The Animated Series" with some characters having black dots for eyes and others having normal eyes, but it looked passable enough for 2000; the fact that the animation director and character designer would go on to work on Kim Possible gives of the impression that they must've been doing something right) make this movie NOT one of the finer moments of this indie slacking stoner duo (whoopsies, did I make a tongue twister?). Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Why did this get rated bad Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/22 Full Review Dr N It's for stoners but it's pretty funny just because silent Bob didn't say anything frfr✔🥓🚀 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/21 Full Review Audience Member Okish Jay & Silent Bob cartoon movie.
