Opening Date Announced For Darien Swap Shop

The opening was delayed, but the town has announced a new opening date and operating hours.

DARIEN, CT — According to the town website, the Darien Swap Shop is currently scheduled to open on Thursday, May 2.

Originally scheduled to open on April 1, the swap shop remained closed as town officials tried to clarify rules for volunteers and ensure access to the site at 126 Ledge Road was safe.

New hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The facility will be closed in the event of rain. Hours are subject to change depending on the availability of volunteers and weather.

Drop-offs will be permitted until 1 p.m., with shopping allowed until closing, the announcement says.
