The food is great, well sometimes. The teachers are quite understanding, kind and also greatly qualified. They explain to understanding and help you if you’re having a hard time understanding. It really helps you grow as a person and if you are a student who is struggling and want to get the next level, then HSA is the perfect school for you!
Overall, being a student at Horizon Science Academy Columbus High School has been an amazing experience. I have met peers from diverse ethnicities and cultures. I have learned so much about different cultures I never knew. The school is prepping students for college by encouraging us to take as many college classes as we can. I have loved every moment at Horizon. The worst part of my experience was trying to understand perspectives of different cultures and religions. I would like to see the quality of our lunch changed.
Overall, I have had a great experience with Horizon. The curriculum is very good and I actually felt like I was challenged with the material I was learning. The teachers were engaged with the students and they were willing to help their students understand . We have pretty good resources, for example, I was in the engineering pathway, and we got to work with Fanuc robots, 3D printers, and dc and ac workshop stations, and plc controllers to really help engage and immerse student learning. A lot of the times we would have teachers, and workers from various companies, and other high schools tell us that the resources we have is not easily accessible in the facilities they work in and how we are luck to have them to work with. One thing I think could be improved on is having more extracurricular programs and clubs. While there are variety of options, I believe there could be more clubs in music and art to bring out creativity in students.
