Dear Students and Families,
I am thrilled to extend warm greetings to each of you as the newly appointed Principal of New Bedford High School. It is with great enthusiasm and a profound sense of honor that I introduce myself to this wonderful community.
My name is Joyce Cardoza, and throughout my educational career, I have had the opportunity to serve in various roles including Multilingual Dropout Prevention Specialist, Principal of Resiliency Middle School, and for the last six years, the Associate Principal of New Bedford High School. I am both honored and excited to move into the role of Principal. As we transition to new leadership, I want to thank Bernadette Coelho for her years of service to New Bedford High School.
As a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, I am committed to working collaboratively with students, caretakers, and staff to ensure a successful and fulfilling educational experience for everyone. My educational philosophy revolves around creating a supportive atmosphere that nurtures academic excellence, personal growth, and the development of strong character. My goal is to build upon the outstanding foundation that has been laid out and continue to elevate New Bedford High School to new heights of achievement.
I am a strong believer that open communication is key to a successful partnership between the school and families, and I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have.
During my tenure, you can expect a focus on collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment where all students can thrive. Together, we will create an atmosphere where every student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential. I look forward to working with all of you in service of our 3,000 student Whalers!
Sincerely,
Joyce Cardoza
