When William McClellan was born in 1688, in Scotland, his father, William McLellan, was 40 and his mother, Agnes MacCulloch, was 39. He married Elizabeth Van Horn in 1715, in County Antrim, Ireland. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died about 1740, in Mercersburg, Franklin, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 53.
