Lenny Von Dohlen was an actor who played Harold Smith in “Twin Peaks.”

Acting career

Von Dohlen had his film debut in the 1983 movie “Tender Mercies.” The following year, he starred in the sci-fi romantic comedy “Electric Dreams,” one of his best-known roles. His “Twin Peaks” character was a doomed recluse and orchid gardener; Von Dohlen reprised the role in the 1992 feature film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.” In “Home Alone 3,” he played Burton Jernigan, a member of a band of international criminals.” Von Dohlen’s other movies included “Jennifer 8” and “Teeth,” while he made appearances on such TV shows as “Miami Vice,” “Thirtysomething,” “Red Dwarf,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” and “Psych.” He had a recurring role on “The Pretender,” and his most recent credit was on a 2017 episode of “The Orville.”
