Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had told cops that he had sent a shooter to recce Salman Khan’s home in 2021.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in the eye of a storm over the murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, had confessed to a conspiracy to kill Bollywood star Salman Khan when he was questioned by police in 2021.

India Today has exclusively accessed a copy of the report on Lawrence Bishnoi’s interrogation, in which he revealed that he had asked Rajasthan-based gangster Sampat Nehra to kill Salman Khan. Following his orders, Nehra went to Mumbai and reconnoitred around the actor’s home in Bandra.

However, since Nehra was armed with only a pistol, he was unable to get a clear shot at Salman Khan from a distance. The gangster then ordered an RK spring rifle through a man identified as Dinesh Fauji, who lived in the same village as Nehra.

Lawrence Bishnoi reportedly paid Rs 3-4 lakh for the RK spring rifle to his associate Anil Pandya. The rifle was in Dinesh Fauji’s possession. Police traced the rifle to Fauji and placed him under arrest.

Bishnoi, who is in the custody of the Delhi Police's Special Cell, is currently being questioned about the threat to actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan’s life.

Salim Khan’s guards had spotted an unsigned letter with the message “tumhara Moose Wala kar denge (you will end up like Moose Wala),” scribbled on it at Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand promenade. The letter was addressed to actor Salman Khan and his father.

The Delhi Police Special Cell, which is probing singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder, got custody of Bishnoi for three days after arresting him from Tihar Jail in a case registered under the Arms Act. The gangster had been lodged in Tihar’s Central Jail number eight.

Earlier, a Delhi court refused to entertain a plea filed by Bishnoi seeking a direction to jail authorities not to give his custody to Punjab Police, which suspects that he had plotted Moose Wala’s killing.

The Punjab Police had earlier said Moose Wala's killing seemed to be the result of an inter-gang rivalry and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was involved in it. Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, had claimed responsibility for the Punjabi singer’s murder.
