Arrival and checking in is on Saturday 19 August is 12 -2pm (please note lunch is not provided)
The first session will take place before dinner.
The school will end with lunch on Wednesday 23 August
Creating a spiritually charged environment.
The summer school setting is one in which we can create an atmosphere that reflects the vision of Baha’u’llah for a vibrant, inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment.
There will be plenty of opportunities for service and the school will undoubtedly be a wonderful success thanks to the many volunteers that arise. Help and support is needed for the following aspects:
Ushers:
Right from the first day at registration to help and direct people to their accommodation, guide people to the various meeting rooms and around the venue.
Guiding people from social spaces back into sessions.
Ensuring the devotionals are not disturbed by late arrivals (we aim to start all sessions promptly)
At meal and break times times
during the plenaries to help with the children
Setting up and packing away the bookshop
Assist with rearranging rooms for different activities
Keeping the site clean and tidy
Sign writing and posting to different spaces for various activities
Assisting people when vacating their accommodation.
Tidying up when the school is finished.
Sports coordinators:
Can you help organize some sports and games (including indoor/tabletop games) in the afternoon please indicate this on the registration page. You can email the registrar with further details.
Workshops:
always an important part of any summer school is the opportunity to learn and share new skills. If you would like to offer a practical workshop in the afternoon please indicate this on the registration page. You can email the registrar with further details.
Music and singing:
is a highlight of all summer schools. please email the registrar and if you are able to offer this wonderful element to the school. We would appreciate offers to help with the technical aspect of a PA system requirements and set up
