新宿山ノ手七福神・辨財天

2009年から続けているお正月恒例の七福神巡りですが今年は1月13日の成人の日に新宿山ノ手七福神に参りました。経王寺（大黒天）の後は厳嶋神社（辨財天）に向かいます。経王子を出て左に大久保通りを進みます。若松町交差点を左に折れます。都営大江戸線の若松河田の駅を通り過ぎるあたりから「抜弁天」の表示が何度か現れます。しばらく行くと抜弁天という三差路交差点の手前左側に厳嶋神社（辨財天）があります。経王寺からは宝禄稲荷神社での5分の寄り道を含めて20分程でした。交差点前三角地にある境内は小さく三差路の二本の大通りの双方に大きな鳥居が立っており南北にすぐ通り抜けできます。源義家が奥州征伐の帰途に創建したと伝わる由緒ある神社で義家が苦難を切り抜けた弁天社であることから抜弁天として庶民から信仰されてきました。南北の大きな鳥居に挟まれた境内は小さく中央に立つ鳥居の先に柵に囲まれた祠があります。祠の扉は閉じられていましたが家内安全と健康長寿を祈願しました。御朱印は西向天神社で頂けます。

こじんまりとした寺院です

「厳島神社」ってご存知ですか、余丁町通りと大久保通りが交差する抜弁天交差点の傍にあります。地名にもあるように通称・抜弁天と呼ばれていて、こじんまりとした境内は内は南北に通り抜けられます。南の鳥居の傍には龍の怖い顔が印象的の手水舎、近寄りがたいです。小さな池もありますよ。弁天様に参拝しましょう。

新宿山の手七福神めぐり

四番札所はここ厳嶋神社、通称抜弁天です。源義家がここから富士山を望み、その後の戦いに勝利したことから、祀ったという由緒正しい神社。抜弁天は、双方に抜けられるという有難い神社。御朱印が欲しい場合は、近所の西向天神社に行くといただける。

源義家により創建

地下鉄の東新宿駅から徒歩7～8分ほど。境内が面している都道302号のこの区間は「抜弁天通り」と呼ばれる。
1086年に源義家により創建。祭神は市杵島姫命。社殿は木造銅板葺き。神仏習合では市杵島姫命は弁財天と同一視されており、新宿山の手七福神の弁財天となっている。源義家が戦勝祈願して苦難を切り抜けた、境内が南北に通り抜けできることから「抜弁天」と呼ばれているとのこと。

職安通りは明治通りを超えると抜弁天通りに名称が変わります坂を上がると余丁町通りとのT字路が抜弁天の交差点この角地に鎮座してます　名前の由来は参道が南北に抜けている　源義家が苦難を乗り越えた　二つの理由がある　社殿は小さいながら神明造

新宿山ノ手七福神めぐりへ

七福神唯一の女性の弁財天で、五穀豊穣の守り神といわれている。大久保通りから鬼王通りに入っての三角地にあり小さな社と小さな池がある。僅かに数匹の鯉が泳いでいた。

素敵な所でした

鳥居が向かい合って二つあり、その間が境内になっています。
通り抜けできる境内ということで、災難を通り抜けられる、というご利益があるという口コミを何かで見て、行ってみました。
本当に小さな小さな神社なのですが、池があり、きれいな鯉がいました。
境内はきれいにしてあって、お世話をしてくださる方たちが大切になさっているのだろうな、と感じました。
心が清められる思いでした。また立ち寄りたいです。

地下鉄若松河田駅近くの神社で、新宿山ノ手七福神を巡る中でお参りしました。
七福神のうち弁財天をお祀りしている神社で、車通りの多い大きな通りの三叉路の真ん中にありますが、静かな印象を受ける神社です。

金魚や鯉

祠の周囲の池に、金魚や鯉が泳いでいて涼しげでした。水も濁っておらず、赤や白の鱗が透明な水に映えてきれいでした。
