Zanfer Promotions CEO Fernando Beltran, who co-promotes Mexican slugger Jaime Munguia, is interested in a possible fight with David Benavidez - but he makes it clear that his boxer is without question the A-side of the equation.

Benavidez had been linked to a potential fall showdown with WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion David Morrell.

However, in a recent interview Benavidez called for a fight with Munguia.

Last month, Munguia made a jump to the super middleweight division and picked up a very tough win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko.

According to Golden Boy Promotions, who co-promote Munguia, they are ready and willing to negotiate a fight with Benavidez.

Another opponent who wants a crack at Munguia is Puerto Rican puncher Edgar Berlanga.

Last month, Berlanga made his debut on streaming service DAZN as part of his new promotional deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom.

When it comes to Berlanga, Beltran expressed interest in that potential contest as well - but also made it clear that Munguia would be the A-side of that fight as well.

“We are ready to face whoever the people want, if Berlanga is the best option we can go with him, as long as his promoter is clear that we are A-side in the equation. The fight is going to be wherever we say, and Jaime will get the better percentage of the purse - if they really want the fight," said Beltran to ESPN Knockout.

"I feel that Jaime is going to be the A-side in the equation with anyone, except Canelo Alvarez... in that situation we would accept being the B-side, but with Berlanga, with Benavidez, whoever they tell me, I'm positive Jaime would be the A-side and that's the way we want to proceed.”

In his last fight, Munguia (42-0, 33 KO's) was tested like he's never been before, after getting seriously hurt on more than one occasion against Derevyanchenko. Munguia scored a knockdown in the twelfth and final round, which made a key difference on the scorecards.
