Michael John McKean (born October 17, 1947) is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, composer, singer, and musician. He gained recognition for his roles in various film and television projects. McKean rose to prominence as Lenny Kosnowski, the annoying neighbor on the sitcom Laverne & Shirley. He also portrayed David St. Hubbins, the lead vocalist and co-lead guitarist of the fictional rock band Spinal Tap in This Is Spinal Tap. McKean has appeared in numerous Christopher Guest ensemble films and co-wrote the Oscar-nominated song 'A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow' from the film A Mighty Wind.
