Where are these bandit camps?
I keep getting stuff stolen and got a message that a bandit camp was sighted. I looked all over in my region and can´t see anything.

They're literally in another region across the map. Bandits apparently have teleporting powers and/or portal guns.

I see bandit tent icons on my map. But still they are pretty far away. I was wondering about this as well? Would be nice if you could see it happening. But I'm thinking its just some kind of random negative buff that happens on occasion? Not really sure?

That sucks, I guess I need to learn how to make a militia and hope they don´t get wiped.

It seems Sythalin is right, they just teleport your goods from anywhere on the map.
