George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle was baptised on 22 October 1773 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, London, England. He married Lady Georgiana Dorothy Cavendish, daughter of William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire and Lady Georgiana Spencer, on 21 March 1801 at Devonshire House, Piccadilly, London, England. He was buried at Castle Howard, Castle Howard, Yorkshire, England. His will was proven (by probate) in January 1850.
He was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, Master of Arts (M.A.). MP for Morpeth between 1795 and 1806. He succeeded his father as 6th Earl of Carlisle [E., 1661] on 4 September 1825.
