Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Spotty ManJimboomba, Australia135 contributionsI have been spending time at Southbank for more years than I care to recall and love the place. It has been a thing for me to drop off my wife at an event somewhere in the City and then go for a wander through Southbank (almost always with our dogs) for many, many years. I love the relaxed nature of the place and feel that it mirrors the lifestyle in Qld quite well. Chilled, unpretentious and suitable for whatever folks want to do whether it be riding a bike, reading a book, jogging, playing with kids, strolling, having a swim or a BBQ.
Did I mention that puppies on leads are welcome ?
Plenty of food outlets, transport options and hidden delights like the sensory garden and the little boardwalks.....
Not to mention the easy access across and along both sides of the river for many kms.
A wonderful way to spend as little or as long as you like.Written 21 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It rained pretty hard during several parts of our tour, but that neither deterred us, our tour guide (Nadia), nor the animals. We were prepared with ponchos/rain jackets and had an absolutely amazing time. The amount of care given to the animals is so amazing to see. The amount of personal attention and care given during the Platinum tour is worth every penny. We got one-on-one time and pictures with the Dingos, the Koalas, a python, an owl, backstage tour of the platypus enclosures, and toured the entire facility. I would absolutely do this again and I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Brisbane!!!Written 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben69059Singapore, Singapore344 contributionsFrom the top, you can get a nice view of the city. It was quite crowded when we went up. There is a cafe selling different variety of food.Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bill SSt Helens, UK80 contributionsThis is another area well worth a visit when visiting Brisbane, we had a great time simply wandering about seeing the gardens. It is easy to get to with the Roma Street train station only a few yards from the gardens, it also just short walk from the city centre itself.Written 23 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy M7 contributionsThe tour was very informative and interesting our guide Zac made the tour totally enjoyable. The burgers were delicious too and although I’m not a beer drinker, I enjoyed the tasting with my beer of choice being the fifty lashesWritten 7 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben69059Singapore, Singapore344 contributionsThere are 6 tracks to choose from, no 1 being the garden and flower track. See bamboos along this track. You can drive into the garden.Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul LegateUnited Kingdom21,909 contributionsThe Brisbane River is the longest river in South East Queensland and runs through the centre of Brisbane.
The river is a significant focal point of Brisbane and dominates the city, a great deal of attractions in the downtown area are contentrated around the riverfront. During our stay in Brisbane we did a number of walks using the the dedicated multi-use bikeways.
One walk was from CBD to Toowong along the Bicentennial Bikeway which runs along the river and there were some fantastic views of the Brisbane skyline and the river itself.Written 28 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Ferries stop every 15 minutes at different stops along the downtown area. One might sit inside or on the little upper deck where the view is pretty neat.Written 27 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LMCM111Perth, Australia668 contributionsLovely gardens, beautifully set out and delightful to walk around. Close to city and easy to access southbank. Only downside was the cyclists who obviously thought they were on a race track.Written 18 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcus W1 contributionA truly amazing experience visiting this place. Everyone in the staff were so helpful and friendly, Peta, Susie and Tori who made us feel welcome when we entered the shop.
The shop has so many unique beautiful pieces of opal, and Geoff helped us finding just the right piece for my gfs birthday.
A speciel thanks to the awesome Bryce for an entertaining introduction to the world of opals and for his passionate stories and service which left me with a breathtaking polished piece of opal. I would definitely recommend visiting this place - the museum for a walkthrough a large collection with colourful and breathtaking opals and other rocks, and the shop where you can find your own unique piece of jewellery.
