Junior: My experience at Chaminade University in Hawaii Is overall a great and well-spent experience. The staff and faculty are overall kind towards you and are interested in interacting with the students inside of class and outside of class. I liked how small and diverse the students are here. I get to connect myself with students from all portions of the world especially on the Pacific Islander side. I learn along the way the different cultures, tradition, as well as the languages that my ethnic friends speak. I also like how relationships are easily made here at Chaminade due to the fact that the population of the university is equally small so it gives you the benefit to make new friendships as well as relationships with your professor and so on. Furthermore, what I would like to see change is definitely new renovations such as improvements within the transportation alternatives. Alum: My time at Hawaii Pacific University was an overall great experience. I graduated in 2018 with my Bachelors degree in Marine Biology, and I still remain in contact with my college friends. We have bonded and "clicked" so well that even though we live in different states, we always pick back up as if nothing has changed. It's almost effortless. If I went to a different University then I wouldn't have the close friends I have today. I also loved my college professors as well. In the Marine Biology program, my cohort had excellent teachers who really cared about the students. I went to many office hours to receive the help I needed since Marine Biology is not an easy major. Sophomore: This being my first college experience since graduating high school, it has been an amazing journey thus far. As a current sophomore, I can recall several "God moments" that have made my studying of scripture and theology here eye-opening. From the professors, to the context of what we are studying, to the surrounding community of other believers, to even the messages being delivered by students at our chapel services, all of it has been tremendous. Although the campus is separated by two locations, the classes are small enough to earn the attention of your professors, and to have meaningful conversations with fellow students for group projects and homework. If you are looking for a college, that focuses developing your hermeneutics, while having a heart to reach the world, then be sure to put Pacific Rim Christian University at the top of your list of Christian colleges to choose from in Hawaiʻi.... Freshman: I never would have thought that I would attend an international college. Although it's a small campus with limited activities for campus life, that's part of what makes this college pretty great. I love that the campus is small because the class sizes are small; this makes the relationship between the teacher and student more intimate and makes it easier to learn. The campus is a bit low on staff though, so multiple teachers have to teach multiple classes in a day. I am a freshman and still learning new things about college life. Everyday I go to class, meet new people, and make new friends. I love to learning different languages, especially Japanese. This school is perfect for people who want to be immersed in speaking Japanese with people who werr born and raised there without actually going to Japan. Although I am barely proficient at talking in English, nonetheless Japanese, the school has a study abroad program that will help with that. The school system in general is okay.... Read 6 reviews
